What is the most weight you have lost in one week. And, how did you go about loosing said weight?

Me: 4.2 lbs, by following weightwatchers plan (eating healthy) and working out everyday.

I think my max has been about 7lbs -when I was at my heaviest weight - which was about 2 percent of my total weight... I've never had supremely big losses - just consistant ones - which I'll take..

Hi,

The most weight I've lost is two pounds, but this was by accident and because I was sick up.

My experience has been, for those trying to lose weight, 2 pounds is safe.

Of course, your first week of healthy eating, you'll lose alot more weight, especially if you drink alot of soda or carry alot of water weight.

Beware, if your losing more than 2 pounds, your probably sacrificing muscle tissue.

not always true

i lose 4.2-5 lbs a week and iv gotten nothing but skinnier and stronger

Most I've lost in a week was about 10-11 Lbs when I first started. Last Week I lost 5 Lbs. I usually lose 5lbs a week and then plateau for a few weeks then start loosing again when I figure out how to break through my plateaus.

5-8 pounds is the most i've lost.
This month, all i've been losing is two pounds a week, but i've decided i will definitely take that over nothing!

I swear the very first week at the start of all this I lost 14lbs, but I think it was due to many extenuating circumstances. If only it had kept coming off at that rate...

Generally, it is safe to lose 1% of your body total weight. So if you weigh 300 pounds, 3 pounds a week is a safe goal.

If your losing that much per week, all fat, more muscle, more power to you!

The only way to really know this, is body composition testing? Are you giving yourself a home test?

From my experience, with hundreds of clients, it is extremely rare to lose more than 1.5-2 pounds per week without sacrificing muscle tissue. If you are losing muscle, you will plateau and than this will lead to regaining the weight.

Keep the weight loss permanent, by losing it slowly.

My 2 cents

I lost 7lbs my 1st week and people with 100+ lbs to lose tend to drop alot the 1st week or 2 do to water loss and extreme changes to their diet,I average 2lbs a week when I am 100% good and exersicing lots.

I've always heard that but in my case it wasn't true... according to my spreadsheet (that I have kept track of for the past 18 months) my first week was 3lbs, second week was 4 lbs.... and it stayed at 3lbs til I got to about 220...

I lost 6.5 pounds in the 1st week while on Weight Watchers a couple years ago. The 2nd week was 4 pounds. Subsequent weeks were 1 to 2 pounds and then I plateaued.

3kg. not sure how many lbs but i think its a lot. this was my first week also! due to going on long ass walks and jogs through the jungle in asia for a week i probably sweated it out.

hah that was this week just past. Dont ask me how though

last sat I was like 214 then this prev sat I was down to 206 im floating around 205.5 now. But wierd thing was I went on like a 2 night drinking binge ate basically nothing and got no sleep. so IDK.

But I dont recomend this to anyone, I feel like total crap right now and Im going to have a fun time getting back on a healthy course this week

First week 8lbs. It was great starter and an awesome woohoo experience. It was hard afterwards because even though you know not to expect to happen the next week, a part of you deep down really wants to believe it will.

for me its always 3,4 pounds at most...
but the strange thing is.. everybody says i've lost weight while my weight doesnt really change...
and if i go out for shopping.. i realize my pants size have gone down!! but my weight doesnt change that much..
is this normal??

Yes that is normal if you are gaining muscle and toning. I don't really care a great deal about how much I weigh as long as I look the way I want. I know I am naturally a more muscular girl so I will never way 110.
As far as I know the most I have lost is 2-3 pounds.

i lost a huge amount on my first 2 weeks - about 45lb (it was 20kg or so)

A lot of that was water i think - and yeah other than that first burst i have lost 9lb in one week once.
