Most Accurate Time to Weigh Yourself

So, the last week or so, I've actually been finding that my weight hits its daily low around mid-day. I belong to the, weight one's self daily (in the morning) club, but I had forgotten several last week to weight myself in the morning so I would jump on the scale around 1:00pm and find I was 3-5 pounds lighter than I was expecting. So for the past few days, I've been comparing and I definitely weigh more in the morning that I would expect to, weigh less around mid-day and around what I would expect in the evening. I know everyone's weight fluctuates but that seems like a pretty significant fluctuation in a 24 hour time period.

My question is, which one of these weights, would be correct? I don't want to give myself false hope regarding my progress nor do I want to under-estimate my progress because that will de-motivate me.

Does this happen to anyone else? I always thought you weighed less in the morning so I'm pretty confused by these numbers!
 
I have read that it is common for your weight to fluctuate throughout the day. The best thing to do is to weigh yourself at the same time every day to get an accurate reading. I use to weigh myself every day in the morning before my shower. On days I forgot to do it, I would just skip it and weigh myself the next day. Now I prefer to weigh in once a week. It is less discouraging because I found that even though I had a good week, some days I would actually weigh more and those days sucked. That is normal so instead of feeling down on those days, I measure my progress weekly. That works better for me. Although, some times it is tempting to step on the scales before the week is over because I am anxious to see my progress!
 
i totally agree with disciple, i weigh myself first thing in the morning after using the bathroom....and the results have been quite consistent for me.

just thought i should add: ensure the scale is on a flat surface. when i bought my weighing scale i did like the instructions said and added the little feet since i wanted to use it on my carpeted bedroom floor, but it gave me like a 15pound greater reading than when i put it (without the little feet) on the tiled bathroom floor. so now every morning i place the scale on the same spot on the tiled bathroom floor to ensure accuracy.

tu sabbbbbbbbbbes! Religiously.. Every morning.. Actually i have a very bad habit.. I always get up about 2 times a night to use the restroom and i weight myself then too.. Obsessed, ya u can say that. I definatley weigh more in the afternoon.. Not my much though.
 
I have a wii fit and i weigh myself using that each evening after work...my only spare time, it's been pretty consistant although yesterday it said i had put on 8lbs in one day....am a little sceptical about that. If its true then i am seriously doing something wrong :|
 
I weigh first thing in the morning after using the restroom, like everybody else. :coolgleamA:

I also weigh naked. Sorry if that's TMI, but every little bit helps in my book. Hehe.
 
I also weigh everyday in the Am after I potty.

I have noticed that I weigh less in the afternoon. Sometimes I weigh every time I go to the bathroom on my off days.

It stings...:nopity: but I do it out of love for myself!
 
What time is everyone weighing themselves? Im trying not to get obsessed with the scale. Some people say dont weigh yourself but 1 a week.. I like the daily.. Just to keep me on point.. I normally weigh right in the morning as soon as i wake and then im tracking..
