So I am finally back. Life got in the way and I stopped paying attention to myself and what I needed so I put all the weight that I had lost and then some. I joined slimming world two weeks ago with my mom and I have lost just over 3 kg's. My husband and I have also gotten a lot more active and fit which is nice it's nice to be back moving and fully back into karate.

Just for transparency and to be real with myself. My first day of slimming world was 12th of September and I weighed in at 110kg's after 1 week I lost 2kg's and last week I lost another kilo. I am going to start my food diaries again start journalling what I am doing every day as it really helped to keep me motivated and on track the last time.

So I am in it to win it and excited and I am starting in a healthier and more active place then last time.

Welcome back Morgane. Polly, a member of this forum, is a Slimming World success story. Actually, Polly is her own success story- 7 stone lost! Well done on hopping back on the wagon & well done on the 3 kg lost already. You can do this hon :)

Thanks so much for all the support so far guys!

Had a great day yesterday even though it was dark and rainy all day here. I avoided temptation at work they had Belgian waffles for breakfast with tonnes of maple syrup and I had some fruit and poached eggs.

Breakfast: 2 poached eggs with Smoked Salmon & 2 clemtines

Lunch: A grain bowl - Brown rice, roasted butternut squash, tenderstem broccoli, chicken, rocket and some balsamic vinegar

Dinner: Gem Squash (These are from South Africa where I was born and I haven't had them in 8 years since I was last there but my husband found someone who grows them and brought me some it was the best treat ever!!) & baked skinless chicken thighs.

Miscellaneous: 1 party pack of milkybar buttons, 1 pink lady apple, 1 banana. 2 cans of diet coke, 1 skinny latte (only drank half of it) and 2 liters of water

Exercise: 16 minutes cycling, 40 minutes of walking.

I am off on a work trip on Sunday to the States so I am excited and nervous for it. I plan on using the hotel gym as I will not have my usual cycle and walk to work. I must say I am enjoying Slimming world it makes me feel more in control of my cravings like I could have the buttons yesterday without the guilt I would have normally felt and I didn't need to starve myself for the rest of the day to make up for it.

@cate I will definitely have a look at Polly's stuff and see if she has any good tips.

So yesterday was a tough day in terms of being careful what I ate.

In work they had cookies and donuts and I had 2 cookies tut tut but I stayed away from the Donuts and I had lots of fruit which is a speed food in slimming world to try and negate it and I then when for a long walk yesterday evening. I have been in my new job for 6 weeks now and they have had donuts in work every week since I started oh and they have Pizza for lunch today so I will be ordering in a salad.

Breakfast: clementine, banana, 2 cookies & a cappuccino

Lunch: Chicken, beetroot, couscous, peppers, butternut squash and broccoli

Dinner: tuna & cous cous

Miscellaneous: 1 can of 7up free, about 5 chips(Fries), 1 small glass of wine, 2 liters of water, 2 clementines and a banana

Exercise: 10 minute cycle, 1 hour walk.

All in all for a bad food day it wasn't that bad and I will just eat better today to try and make up for it. I can notice that I have lost some inches in the way that my clothes are fitting even if I haven't gone down by that much on the scale I have definitely lost fat from being more active. My husband and I usually cycle about 16km and do a 2 hour karate class on a Saturday which we have been really enjoying and I have promised myself to get in the gym while I am in the states to make up for my lack of a walk and cycle to work.

That all sounds good :)

Hi! I hate when they have candy and stuff like that at work. I'm always so week in those moments, at the end of workdays. It takes so much self control not to have a piece.

I haven't given up just been very busy with the trip to the states and jet lag! Anyways I came back from America unscathed I did my very best to eat as healthy as I could given that I had to eat out for every single meal but I did my best to choose wisely except one day where I went a bit mad and had chicken fried steak and mash, and gravy and fries oh it was amazing but so bad and actually made me very sick afterwards. I think the key to my success was continued excercise while I was there and just coming to terms with the fact that I didn't have full control over what I was eating in terms of I could prepare it myself

So for yesterday I had:

Breakfast: Skinny Latte, 2 poached eggs with smoked salmon & a clemintine

Lunch: Quinoa, grilled chicken, rocket, butternut squash, tender stem broccoli and some balsamic vinegar

Dinner: Homemade chicken soap with chicken, potatoes, onion, garlic, bay leaves, broccoli and some cabbage

Miscellaneous: 1 sugar free red bull, 2 liters of water, some pistachios, three mini baby bell lights and a mini twister ice cream

Exercise: 20 minutes of cycling and 30 minutes of walking

Back to regularly scheduled posting. I have my weigh in tonight at slimming world so I will really see what I weigh then!

Good luck with the weigh-in and a serious round of applause for staying on track while overseas!

So the weigh in last night went really well I lost another 1.5kg's so the exercising and trying my best in the states paid off thank goodness I have also been drinking tonnes of water which is helping me so much and has helped my skin too. Altogether since starting slimming world a month ago is just under 5kg's which is great!

Yesterdays food was good for me I didn't feel hungry once but I also didn't feel like I had over eaten.

Breakfast: 2 poached eggs with smoked salmon, 1 skinny latte and a clemintine

Lunch: Salad with chicken, spring onion, brown rice, beetroot and broccoli

Dinner: Rice, smoked gammon, red pepper, sweet corn and spring onion

Miscellaneous: 2 cans of diet coke, 2 liters of water and some pistachios

Exercise: Cycling 20 minutes, Walking 40 minutes.

I am thinking of doing some sort of class during in the week for exercise maybe aqua zumba or maybe a karate class need to do a bit more research and then decide.

Oh, well done Morgane! You are doing really well. It must feel like you have changed your mindset. You are doing this in a very healthy way & this should become your new normal. :)

Thanks guys! Yesterday was another good and productive day I am busy planning a health and wellness day in work so it means there will be food that I can partake in eating unlike the Belgian waffles and donuts which I try to avoid at all costs.

Breakfast: 40g porridge made with water and sweetener, 1 skinny latte, 1 clemintine

Lunch: Leftover rice, peppers, spring onion, gammon and soy sauce

Dinner: Asparagus, pork medallions x 2 and cous cous

Miscellaneous: 2 liters of water, 1 packed of biltong(the south African version of jerky), 1 can of diet coke and a clementine.

Exercise: 20 minute cycle and 30 minutes walking

I am on a roll this week I feel like something has really clicked for me and I am getting in the swings of packing my lunches for work the night before which makes life so helpful the next day and it's cheaper which is always a plus.

Breakfast: Poached eggs with lean bacon and a clemitine

Lunch: Rice, asparagus and a pork medallion

Dinner: Steak & broccoli

Miscellaneous: 2.5 liters of water, some chicken breast, 1 can of 7up free and 1 can of diet coke, 2 clementines

Exercise: 20 minute cycle and 40 minutes walking.

My next challenge is to try and cut down on the diet fizzy drinks but I just automatically reach for them especially because they are free in work. My husband and I are going out for dinner this evening to get a pho and after some research if I pick wisely it should be very low in syns so that is a bonus!

Meal prep is SO helpful. You really are doing well, I'm sure you'll be able to tackle the soda thing as well.

LaMa meal prep is really helpful and stops me spending money that I could be saving.

Breakfast: poached eggs, lean bacon and a skinny latte

Lunch: rocket, potatoes, Parmesan cheese and chorizo (it was a work lunch and about the healthiest thing on the menu)

Dinner: Beef Pho from a Vietnamese restaurant

Miscellaneous: 2.5 litres of water, 3 cans of Diet Coke, a clementine and a cookie.

It wasn't the best or worst day yesterday. I ate out twice which doesn't help but hey a mini cheat day is allowed ever now and again. Today I have a 16km cycle and my karate class and I plan on eating better today.

Life happens. I think finding ways to deal with the things that come up (like choosing something healthyish for work lunches) is what makes the difference between yoyo-ing and staying where you want to be.
