I....don't really have a way of introducing myself. *laugh* I'm twenty, a graduating senior in college and a musician. Running, inline skating, Tae Bo and walking have been in my life for several years but never seriously. This is the time I change all of that. I want to be healthy and strong for the first time since I was a child.

I live several hundred miles away from my boyfriend/fiance and we will be together in December after four months apart. I would like to be wearing my black pants (that he adores and I can't fit) on December 7th! I guess that's my short-term goal.

So. That's it! I'm looking for motivation, tips, encouragement and success. *grin* Hopefully I can push myself far enough to give this back soon.

Welcome to the forum.

Just imagine what a big difference it will be for him - you see yourself every day but he will just see it all at once. When he sees the difference- and you feel good in those trousers -it will all be worth it. Try n keep that in mind. ;)

Goodness! Thank you for all the encouragement! I hadn't thought about seeing my pants so they are now hanging over my curtainless window rod. *bright smile* I'm very excited about this.

I'm going to make a diary now. Thanks!

We have something in common...

December 7th is a special day for me, too. That is the day I will finally become vested in the retirement system on my job after 5 years of waiting to do so. I have been dieting and exercising for months now, have lost about 40 lbs, but need to lose another 100 lbs (sigh). I have decided to retire from my job when I reach my weight loss goal which I hope will be just over a year from now. Meanwhile, I will be celebrating (without food, maybe a spa visit) on Dec.7th, right about the time you slip those pants on and delight your fiance. Having these short and long term goals seems to really keep me on track and I think you will find that staring at those pants and a calendar will get you where you want to be very soon.
