Mini Workouts?

As far as I know I have seen the latest research on high intensity training and yes the latest studies did show that it didn't burn as many calories as previously thought but it's still better than low intensity for the same amount of time. Like I always tell my clients too is that your main concern should also be the change in your body composition and not so much the weight scale. Since doing alot of cardio with no strength training will make you lose fat but it will also cause you to lose muscle.

I was going to post some links on some studies but it won't let me on this forum.

The research does show as far as I know that combination strength training especially moderately heavy like close to 8 rep max with HIIT does seem to be your best bang for your buck.

If you have other studies that suggest otherwise, I would like to see it.

HIIT is not superior to SS cardio.

They are unique tools that should be applied appropriately. Presenting it as an either/or proposition is silly, IMO, and we don't need studies to say otherwise.

It's not about superiority. It's about appropriateness of application given particular circumstance.

I often do 2 or 3 workouts per day just to keep burning. But I consider everything active I do a mini workout. For example I climb the stairs at work 4x a day (workout 1) then when I do errands I walk instead of driving(workout 2) and finally I take a walk after dinner(workout 3)
Although I don't do this each day I do it often enough so that I am not sitting on my ass all day.

hmm... i think i might like to do that... a miniworkout before my meals just to get the blood flowing in addition to my regular routine.

but yeah... its definitely not going to do any good if i allow these workouts to give me a reason to have a little treat... no thank you... a nice toned body is all the treat i need =D

Does anyone have anydecent advice

Hello,
i'm new to the forum and this thread caught my eye, it is very amusing to read but does anybody have any postive information to give out about what actually works.

Any advice that helps get rid of my gut is appreciated.
