Mimic walking lying down, will it work??

I was thinking, where I live is kinda rough and I don't trust walking around where I live because of what happens daily, so I am looking for excersises to aid in fat loss I can do at home.

Can you get the same results as you would be doing the walking motions while laid on your back? or maybe not as good but will it help? I mean laying flat on my back, putting my legs in the air and moving them up and down like i'm walking (sometimes straighten them out because it seems effective and really tiring). Also moving my arms, will this help at all in aiding fat loss? (assuming my diet is sorted and effective)

EDIT: oooo another quick question, I have quite a bit of fat around my stomach covering my abs so I cannot see them. If I do ab excersises (like crunches) often will it still make a difference for when the fat around my stomch has gone?

Thanks in advance!!!

walking laying done
doesnt sound to biomechanically favourable and most likely you will fatigue too early and im sure if you continued overtime an injury is most likely.

Do you have stairs you could use? otherwise there are other options such as doing step ups on a board or skipping which is very beneficial.

And if you did do crunches, as long as the fat is minimal you will be able to see a difference..

However dont expect the unexpected if your diet is no good, thats the first key step..

ok thanks matt182, about the abs and fat. I have enough fat to not be able to see a difference, but will it still be making a difference under that fat? so I could excersice for a 6 pack that will become visable for when I lose fat?

Thanks again!!!

Yes it would help, you would be able to work harder for you gains and losses, however have you thought about training your whole body, muscle is one of the principle fat burners, this is even more important considering most of your energy is usually used at rest.

But in regards to your question it would help, the muscle still grows it will just be under a layer of fat and once your get rid of most of it it will become more visable as the fat begins to dissapear..

OK, I tried it. That is very creative. I am in great shape, and that is tuff!

I do feel a concern for the hip, and neck. And keep breathing!!

you are a pioneer in fitness!!!

the walking while laying down thing? yeah it is very tiring. To tell you the truth I am looking for/ creating excersises that I can do while just watching TV or somthing, it just makes me foget about them a little bit and never have that "can't be bothered" attitude because I am watching a movie lol.
