Milestones (Amy's diary)

I got to my first two major goals - to be back down to where I was twenty years ago, and then to be no longer "obese" but just "overweight' - and I achieved them not crashingly, but at a pace which i feel I can sustain.
That's really good Amy! It takes a lot to stick to the goals and have them achieve sustainable results--good for you!

Reaching your goals, even if they turn out to feel different than you´d expected, is a major boost. And having more energy is GREAT.

Happy New Year Amy, and all.

I am watching the New Year's fireworks in Australia and New Zealand now, as the sun is rising on New Year's eve here.

Have a wonderful New Year Amy. You did great this year, give yourself credit for that! Here’s to a roaring 20s of success (as opposed to excess)!

Hey Amy, I was just looking at all your New Year posts, you have to have the most in 2020. Its still 2019 here, so you have the advantage over me.

Anyway thanks for all your support in 2019, I appreciate it.

Thank you all! :grouphug: :hurray: :seeya: You are all absolutely lovely people!

It feels so strange to be writing here, and thinking truly cheerful thoughts of you all, and thinking about goals for the year, while listening to the news via internet, saying things like "volatile and dangerous... tipping into catastrophic" and feeling helplessly sympathetic for those in the midst of it all. (The southerly change has probably got well under way by now; may all this ease soon.)

Hi, Amy. We woke up to smoke this morning, but after checking the Tas fire service alerts map, I think it's coming from the East Coast and/or possibly near Launceston. I'll be staying inside & keeping an eye out. Have you been feeling low level anxiety for everyone/Australia?

Are you in Australia Amy?... flooding in Indonesia.
Actually I'm not right now, but I'm not keen to talk about my location. I'm almost glad I'm not there using up water resources. And yes, the floods in Indonesia are terrible, and feel like one more aspect of this whole wreck-the-planet tragedy. (Though I haven't followed the causes there closely.)
Have you been feeling low level anxiety for everyone/Australia?
Yes. We have donated from a distance, and I'm in touch with a friend whose town has been evacuated. Nobody I know or love is in immediate or even likely danger. I have firefighters in the family, and feel strongly about a lot of things relating to how fire services are set up, trained, and supported. I'm glad you're staying inside.
Yes, anxiety for the Australian environment as whole, too - one small example: practically the whole of Flinders Chase National Park on Kangaroo Island is in danger.

Nice to see some light heartedness ladies .

Just had a news flash pop up that 3000 army reserves going into help for what is expected to be a bad weekend on the fires .
I hope it helps.

Hope all that aside that you are well Amy and easing nicely into 2020.
