Is there a way to make lines that people can type on, like in a questionnaire?

For instance, if that was my line, and I sent it to you and you opened the document and typed on it, the line would not stay under the typing.

God that sounds so stupid, lol, but I'd think there would have to be a way.

Yup you can create forms pretty easily...

Now to explain how to do it...

ummmm

Or you can create a PDF form as well in Acrobat that can be accessilbe in Acrobat reader...

if you're using word -it basically involves creating the document as a Form - then Protecting the document so that only the fill in portions of the forms are editable.

I'm making it sound far more complicated than it is...

and with a form - you can use Check boxes or Drop down lists (where a person can choose Male/female/undecided)

etc... so they don't have to type in everything

Sweet, thanks guys. Let me look into this... I might have a question or three.

Just make a table. Questions on the left, answers on the right. And with all the right cells, just make it so the border is on the bottom.

Oh, sorry, looks like this has already been answered.

Under the view menu - there's a selection for toolbars - somewhere on that toolbars menu -there should be an option for Forms...

the dowside to tables it doesn't allow you to lock down the question portion -and you'll always have users that type in the wron place.. forms are your better option becuase you can lock down what you don't want people to change

(Adobe forms are even better for this because Acrobat Reader is free and not everyone has Word - but Adobe forms designer isn't free and adobe allows you to put in fancy logos and such - though if you asked a certain pain inthe butt even semi nicely -i'm sure she'd put together a form for you :)

I do have adobe professional at my disposal.... I just never used it. I appreciate the offer but truthfully I'm not exactly sure what I want yet. I am sort of creating a questionnaire on the fly. I have a ton of questions I want on it but I don't have them planned out yet.

So you would suggest I toy around with adobe before word?

Word is going to be easier in the short term...

In Adobe you should have the option for Adobe Designer - which is part of Acrobar Professional.... you're a smart boy so it will probably take you about 5 minutes of poking around with the toolbar - all you really do is drag the toolbar item onto your blank form -and enter the information...

When you save it.. it can be opend and filled in -and an option to Email it to whatever email address you choose... in Acrobat Reader which is a free application that is available on mac or pc -and you don't have to worry about what version of word someone has...
