I am a mental weakling when it comes to exercising. I'm pretty good at going after other things that I want in life and attacking them full force.
But when it comes to exercise, I find that I spend too much time dreading each set than just doing the damn thing. I have tried affirmations, some self motivation, and even some "don't be a lazy ass!" type comments. However, I still find myself falling back to my comfort zone of laziness.
I suppose it's important to mention that I just started a couple of weeks ago, and my workouts usually go to **** around mid way through. So lack of energy is an issue. I currently do all of my workouts first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Should I add some food, or is there a way to continue with the empty stomach routine?
Are there other ways to boost mental prowess that I might break through? Does it get easier over time?
Thanks for any advice.
