This depends on what your training goals are. High protein high fat diets are more for endurance athletes. Low carb high protein diets are more for bodybuilders. A balanced diet with a good ratio (bodyweight dependant) of carbs/protein/fat is best for those who want to lose weight. This is not a fad or crash diet, this is the real thing. You need as much unprocessed foods as you can get….IE fresh veggies and fruit, and lean meats. DO NOT buy into the low carb BS that is out there. Carbs are an essential part of your diet, and incidentally, this is where your energy comes from. If you work out at all you will NEED a good amount of carbs. Junk food is a big no no for anybody, stay away from those fats. Good fats are your omega 3,6,9s. For instance omega 3 fatty acids are in fish. Keep this in mind, if you are eating a balanced diet full of good foods, you won’t have to worry about the fats because they will be there already. Take an omega supplement for those foods you are missing. Also, you need to eat every 2-3 hours all day!! Anyone who tells you otherwise is full of it. If you cut down on meal sizes and meal frequency your body will try to store as much as it can because it is in starvation mode. Your body needs REGULAR intake to turn itself into a fat furnace.
