Hello all! I've been keeping a diary on my own, but would like people's feedback on healthy/unhealthy. I'm not trying to be a health freak, i'm just lowering my caloric intake, so I can lose this weight. Once I lose weight, I will begin my health nut journey! Haha

Friday March 12, 2009

Breakfast:
Honey Nut Cheerios w/whole milk ( I know whole milk is high in fat/calories, but I'm a nanny and that's the only milk in the house)
Raspberry Light Yogurt

Lunch:

1 slice wheat bread w/ peanut butter & Jelly

Dinner:

Chicken Burrito
Orange Soda

You're not eating very much but avoid the jelly and the orange soda. They have zero nutrititional value and are calorie "dense". Throw in some fruit and vegetables. Don't worry about the whole milk if that's all they have. At least it has protein and vitamins too.

Hey Mary Rose,
I am also a nanny (only in the mornings to help pay for my training, but I paid my entire studies nannying). I gained a lot of weight while nannying when I first started, my people had so much yummy food in their house and did not mind a bit me eating it. Also I would make the kids dinner and eat their left overs then go home and make dinner for my boyfriend and I and have dinner again, not good!
Now I am with a very austere family who have barely anything in the house, that really helps me though!

How old are your kids? My current one is still tiny so when there is good weather I go for long walks with her which we both enjoy and it helps the weight loss. Do you have a chance to do any activities with the kids?

I wish you a wonderful weekend, Camy

Camy - I found myself doing the same thing. Making the kids dinner, and snacking on their dinner, and then coming home to my boyfriend and eating another dinner. (This was at my last nanny job) I do not feed the family I am with now dinner, so I don't have that problem. But they do have a lot of good food, especially snack foods, because the kids are learning to self-feed, and all their kids are super thin, and they're trying to bulk them up, so they have a lot of not necessarily the healthiest foods. The kids I have now (there's 3) are a 4 year old, and twin 1.5 yr olds. We go to the park a lot, especially during the summer. We do swim lessons once a week, and other than that, we don't get out much. (At least in the winter)

CaddyGuy- I know the jelly and soda aren't good for you, and are high in sugar, but I have drastically cut my intake of high sugar foods, and allow myself 2-3 "cheats" per week.

I forgot to include my work outs. I sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago, so I haven't been able to do much cardio. I just started running on it again on Friday. Since Friday, I've lost 2 lbs (i'm sure some of it's water weight) But it feels good to see the scale moving again. I'll begin posting my workouts starting Monday!

Hope everyone had a great weekend.
