marathon running

hey
i want 2 run the london marathonm next year in april. i think its the 18th. is it too late to start training for it????????... i havnt done anything like this before. especially a 26.2mile run!
if its not too late can anyone suggest a training programme for me to follow.
cheers;)

I don't know what town you live in, but I am sure that there are local running groups. Does your town have a marathon around the time of the London Marathon? If so, look at that website and see if they offer an official marathon training program you can join. It makes all the difference in the world to run with the group. You will have plenty of time to train for an April marathon.

thanks a lot dude!:D ill keep these tips in mind. if i run 4 miles everyday... would i be ready for the marathon in april?

First of all, you don't need to run everyday. Second, you need to run more than 4 miles at one time in order to do the 26.2 miles. Our training program just had their long run this weekend of 20 miles. You must incorporate a long run, which will build in distance and time, in your training program and you must incorporate rest days as well.
Go to your local running store (not a chain store) and find out if they have training programs / clubs in your area.

Here is a milage build up I found on the internet. Good luck to ya! Tough running a marathon. I could never do it... bad knees and all. Now of course, you most definitely want to include a strength training program and some cross-training as well. Hope this helps.
