Mantain Weight, yet gain body fat?

Has this happened to anyone else? I was convinced that I'd put on weight - even without the scales I thought I had proof of this.
I went to a new doctor (not to do with weight loss) and was suprised to find that I'm still sitting at 65k (where I was before moving countries). But at the same time, I have proof that I've gained body fat such as *cough*stretch marks*cough* and trousers tighter.

Am I just going clinically insane? I mean yes, I work in hospitality so that may be enough to mantain my weight, but how did I get more body fat without putting on weight? I am so incredibly confused right about now.

If anyone can help enlighten me to this that would be grand. My other stats are 23, female, 165cm.

To my limited knowledge, it just doesn't seem to make sense! (the story of my life)
Thanks in advance.

I think you simply lost muscle and gained fat. fat has a lower density therefore takes more space. hence even if your weight actually hasn't changed, your mesurements have because of fat gain vs muscle loss. =)
let me know if I'm wrong... but it might be that.

Well you see that's the thing - I doubt very much I've lost muscle. That was one thought that crossed my mind, but I didn't have much muscle to begin with as I'd been semi-retired from larin dancing for 3 years. Any muscle would've already slowly gone to my thinking.
But maybe I don't know enough on this subject. Maybe it's not a massive issue, just another matter where my body is not as it seems. Just physically, not medically this time.
