Man boobs

First things first, this is quite a large thread so I appreciate anyone who gives the time to read it and help me out.

Hey everyone, I've lost 50lbs so far and I'm still feeling just as bad about myself as I did when I started. This is because of two things, I'm sure you can work out what they are. These have been plaguing my life since I was a child, I always have to wear layers when I got out and I'm devastated I can't see signs of them going down after working so hard on my weight loss.

I have lost weight all over my body, arms, legs, face, stomach etc. But my chest area still seems to me rather big in contrast to the rest of my body. I've seen people on this forum who are much bigger than me yet have much much smaller man boobs.

I'm starting to wonder if this is normal or not, I've been to my doctor and he just said tone up. But when I Google this problem I'm starting to think I might have Gynecomastia. The thing is half the sites I visit are just trying to sell you surgery so I don't really know. I've only got about another 14lb to loose (I think) and I can't really picture them going when they haven't changed much in the past 50lb.

What I'm really asking is just for people to check out the pictures and tell me what they think, if they have seen people like me and have lost them fine, or if they think they are rather big for my size etc.

Can you also give me your opinion on how my body (stomach mainly) is looking for loose skin/fat? I don't know the signs but if someone call tell me if it's looking good or dare I say it showing signs of either that would be great.

One last thing, it's took me a long time to get the courage to post they pictures so please be sensive, it's something I'm very conscious about.

Thanks.

Least you don't have man boobs that someone could say is perky. If you are really worried, you could have your T levels checked but to be honest? Keep working on the weight loss and talk to your doctor.

I'd kill to have the man boobs you have compared to mine..and I've had mine all my life.

I think it's just a genetics thing, people store fat more in different areas.

One of the problems with rapid weight loss is that on a big calorie deficit you get a lot of lean muscle loss as well as fat loss, in fact a very high percentage of the weight coming off can be muscle. In order to counter that you ideally need to put some muscle back on, you need to concentrate on upper body stuff.

While you've lost a lot of weight you've changed your relative body composition, so you have a high fat to lean body mass ratio, you need to working at shifting that ratio so what you're left with is mostly lead body mass and not fat.

I kind of looked into all this before starting my 60-70lb weight loss, I started doing weights from day 1, I just do pressups and bought some cheap dumbells and do them every few days, you start gaining muscle surprisingly fast.

What you'll find is that you gain weight when you put muscle on, it's more dense than fat so you don't need to put much on before you see a weight increase. Keep a good diet with an overall cal deficit to counter this, you should try and keep a high protine diet as that will help muscle growth. You'll find that as muscle goes on your body has no choice to burn energy from fat and the fat goes down, at this stage I believe a lot of people have more success with losing the fat with exercise rather than with dieting.

It starts off hard, I could do like 2 pushups when I started at 250lbs and not lift much on the dumbells, now I can do about 15 pushups and have all of the weights loaded on to the dumbells. Weight training is great because it's so easy, it literally takes a few minutes to do initially. Just make sure you educate yourself a bit on weight training, rest every other day to allow muscles to recover, prepare to ache like a motherfather the first few weeks.

You'll like it after a while, I'm in no way vain but I do like seeing the progress on my "guns", chicks are going to dig it as well :)

First of all, props on your weight loss you should be very pleased with yourself. now in regards to the extra skin, noremorse has posted a very good regime that will help. a lot of focus should now be building your muscles up which will help you become more lean and will tighten your chest area. once again thank you for sharing your experience, it can be daunting but this community is one of the best on the web, this is only my second post after months of lurking and your courage has helped me in deciding to post my photos soon!
