Man boobs and a pot belly.

Hey all
This is both the first forum I've joined and the first attempt to lose weight. I've had a pot belly for a 2-3 years now, it's got worse over the years and now I've developed man boobs too.
I'm 21, weigh 14 stone and I'm 6'ft2-6ft'3. I'm looking to loose weight on my belly and upper chest, I'd also like to get rid of my love handles.
I'm not really sure how to go about losing the weight though. I think I'd probably need to lose 2 - 2 1/2 stone, I've tried looking on the internet for advice and found this website [I'm new to the internet].
I'd like to know what kind of exercise I should be doing to lose the weight. I would preferably like to work out at home. I was thinking of purchasing an exercise bike but I weren't sure if that was the right item to buy for myself.

There are many things that you can do to aid you is losing weight...
Firstly, you need to look at your diet. If you have a good healthy diet, it is a lot easier to lose weight and stay at a healthy weight.
Do you have any weights or equipment at home? Weight training is really helpful in losing weight in terms of body fat which a lot of people overlook.
Also, try and run frequently and do some interval training. Get into a routine and stick to it.
 
So you're 6'2" - 6'3" and you want to weigh 160 lbs? There's your first huge problem. My guess is that you have no muscle mass and that's why you look the way you. If you cut and there's no muscle underneat the fat, you will not only not have accomplished anything, but you'll still look bad.

What you need to do is adopt a training routine (check out the weight training section for great beginner routines). A 3 day full body workout is an excellent start. Do you have any equipment at home?

As stated above, you need to make sure your diet is in check. You should probably eat around maintenance calories at first and give your body a chance to gain some muscle and lose some fat. You'll be able to do that since you're a beginner.
 
I would go along with what Ride on has said above, at 6’2” and 14 stone you’re not that heavy at all, you should find that with a bit of muscle added to your frame you’ll be able to carry your weight a whole lot better.

I’d obviously still suggest you tried to shift some of the fat but I doubt it’s the only issue and I’m sure you wouldn’t want to drop down to 12 stone and still have moobs.
