Males Only Support Club!!!

alot of places have a diet selection. If they dont just get creative and get a salald or something grilled or broiled like troutman said. even a steak wouldnt be bad in the grand scheme of all the other junk that will be on the menu

But that junk is sooo tasty...

I am about to go on a four-day package tour. I am worried about the food issue. There is really nothing for me to do other than keep on doing what I am doing now. It will be socially difficult to eat small portions of everything and people will likely make fun of me, big guy that I am, eating itty bitty portions but I cannot let others decide what i will and will not eat.

I know when I stray from my plan, I punish myself physically the next day. I work out harder to the point of, well........punishing myself, and consume less calories than normal to make up for it. It seems to work for me, I work the guilt off, work the calories off and I get to splurge once in a while. I just don't do it two meals in a row, or two days in a row.

well we all stray or a diet would just be easy. lastnight i had chinese. not the best but i stayed on the low end side as much as i could. so when we slip of have a lack of choices. think we just move on and keep going

Well I'm a bit new around here, but yeah. My sophmore year in high school I was about 175 pound, junior year 200, senior year 240.....yeah kind of a bad trend. Now that I'm a sophmore in college, I'm working on getting back to my sophmore weight.

I started out this year at 230 pounds, and as of now I'm 204 pounts. So my goal generally is to lose 30 or so more pounds. All ready I've seen great results such as losing 4 iches on my weight, and well i'm psyched.

I'm not all so worry about maintaining my weight when I reach my goal, because frankly....I only got so fat cause I did football as a linemen, and they encouraged me to eat....and then after my senior year I kept eating and not working out.

Yeah...well the past is the past.

Suggestion for anyone looking for cheap, low calorie TV dinner like foods; Michelina's Lean Gourmet have these meals I found at my local Kroger. Each has 220-300 calories, and 4-10 or so grams of fat. The best news is they take about 6 minutes to cook, and cost a total of 1 dollar eat. Oh and they taste REALLY good. Suprisingly they cook up better then most high cost/cal TV dinners.

Each has a decent amount of food to it, but I normally go with a side fruit or vegatible, since I'm sure nothing is very natural in it, but still tastety.

weight training and shoulder injuries?

I'm lifting weights again, but now with an improperly rehabed shoulder. A few years ago I opted out of surgery on a rotator cuff tear and decided to rehab they shoulder myself  stupid. anyway, the shoulder is giving me fits on my benchpress and incline press. No shoulder exercises tax it, just those two. I sure would like to move up in weight, but I wonder if its ever going to get better. I definitely don't want to reinjur the shoulder. Anybody have any experience with shoulder injuries and weight training?

I think one of my biggest problems has been the fact I'm a college student...I like to get drunk....and we all drink beer. I've switched straight to natty from budwieser, save like 50 cals there, but when you end up drinking 9 or 10 of them, doesn't help. I'm aiming near a 1200 a day diet, then I get ripped and go over 2k.

I know that problem myself, but I don't know the solution. A mans gotta have a vice. I just wish my vice was running :D

Beer can be a problem. I so far have been able to stay away from it or just drink in moderate amounts. I think to myself that at this point my health is more important than having another pint.

Sorge, I want to save you a lot of wasted time. Give up the beer or you will not lose weight. Your young so you will live forever.

Sorry, Chip

Please Help

Hey guys! I'm new to the forums and thought this might be a good place to post my problem. PROBLEM: I'm 6'0, 16 year old white male. I've always been a lil heavy until I began eating a lil bettr and lost 30 lbs. a couple years ago. I've rly been wanting to pull out my abs. I've been doin about 2-3 sets of crunches a night, 20-25 per set for nearly 2 1/2 months. I've seen some nice results...after i push my tummy fat out of the way. I consider myself to be active. During the school year I played basketball and got nearly 3 hrs of exercise each weekday plus weight room every other day, but I havn't really seen the desired results. I don't consider myself to eat bad anymore. I've had 1 bowl of ice cream in the past 5 months :D and ususally do not even eat desserts.
My Day:
Breakfast:
Either one pancake, bowl of Cheerios, or one apple.
Lunch:
Turkey sandwich (Homemade/Subway :p )
Dinner:
Depends usually biggest meal of day. - eat around 6 / 6:30
Snack:
Usually 1-2 Strawberry smoothies (Homemade/Smoothie King)

In b/w that I have been jogging 1-3 miles a day and doing some small bench weights, pushups, exercise bike, and various other exercizes that my coach has shown me. I can see and feel my 6 pack when i push back this tummy fat, expecially when sitting in a tight crunch position

Lately, I've gotten really frustrated because I don't understand what all I need to be doing to lose this last 1 inch of tummy fat. Unfortunatly, I'm one of those people that you look at and wouldn't think was heavy. I got skinny arms so I'm trying to build them up in muscle so as I lose weight I won't have a 6 pack with needle arms.

I really am just looking for some advice, or if you would suggest certain workout routines (what exercises, how many reps, what days). Just tell me what I need to do and I'll do it, I just am not rly sure atm. And most importantly how long will it take to get rid of being a skinny kid with a fat stomach. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Honestly I cannot tell ya how to get a 6 pack, since I've never had one. I remember back my freshmen year of highschool, I wrestled 171, (5-11), was getting 2 and half hours of wrestling practice 6 times a week(crazy shit for sure), doing several hundred situps a day....and for the life of me I didn't have a six pack. Then again I know some guys who were skin and bone and still didn't have it.

Frankly, I think that some people just cannot get six packs, but more realistically.

You are only 16, your body has matured enough to where you get thoses kind of muscular build yet. Give it a few years and you'll have a crazy build I'm sure.

I dont completely believe this, sure beer is close to being empty calories(does have some protien, though not enough to matter) its all about how you handle it. Tonight I played 3 games of beerpong, 2 winning, 1 losing. totally about 2 cans worth of beer. Natural Light has 95 calories per can, so about 180 cals. Sure its carbonated as well, but as I only drink 2 cans of pop a day, not a huge deal.

Sorge, I'm 47 & I weighed 309 Lbs. I was killing myself, I decided I wanted to live as long as God wants me to. That is why I'm changing. Just don't let your weight get out of control again, your doing great. If you give up on dieting just keep weighing yourself so you know the truth. You don't want to end up like me, your to young. Guess what 47 comes with a snap of the finger which I don't expect you to believe.

TroubledTeen, I wish I had some advice. I have no idea how to get a six pack. At some point I hope I have your problem. Maybe at that time you can tell me how to get the six pack.

bigo----- yea stopping smoking will pack it on. I have never had thad problem being from a house where my mom and dad smoked constantly. I guess i just never picked it up. well except for the one cigar i have with a glass of whiskey a few times a year. Its easy to change one vice for another. The sugar was a big deal for me. now its not so much. now if they would stop running those dq blizzard comertials every few minutes lol....... dont worry if spelling was a big issue i would have been booted long ago.......

BigBear, I agree with you on the scale. We make excuses all the time about the scale not going down. Were losing inches & we have hit a plateau those are the 2 big ones. When I have truly eaten right on my diet a week has not gone by where I have not lost weight.

BigO & hillbillylee, Your making me hungry.

BigO, Glad to have you & thank God I'm not graded on spelling.
