Males Only Support Club!!!

Thanks, Trek.

Back in the day I used to ride 150-200 miles per week but that was many years and many pounds ago. I really want to ride again. Now that the weight is coming off, I finally feel like it is plausible to be out on the road again.

Cycling is indeed a great time for thinking, or not thinking. I really enjoyed climbing. When You are faced with a monster hill between you and home there is only one way to get home. You have to go over the hill and the only way to do that is to stay wholly focused on the task at hand. I love that sense of purpose and focus on the present.

Hi I'm new here. I've got to lose about 124 lbs so I'm just starting and I'm really mad at myself for getting this big. I'm with the guy on here that said never ever smoke. I've quite 3 times and that was back at 230 lbs. I'm eating right and walking now and when I get down to about 250 I'm going to get on a and do at least 10 miles a day.

Turtle, Welcome

I know exactly what you are talking about. You will be how much better you will feal so quickly. Remember, you need to be in this for the long term. I started walking 3 miles a day the first day it took me 1 Hr. 23 Mins. right now my best 5 miles was somewhere around 55 Mins. On July third I ran 13.3 miles. A year ago that would have killed me. So just watch your body & don't push to hard. You don't want to hurt yourself when you have so much weight to lose.

BigBear, 200 miles wow!!! You'll be back to it before you know it.

Oh hell, my bad.

I thought there were women here willing to take us in and support us.

I'm not homophobic but 'guys' talkin to 'guys'.... well......sorry.

I could have said we were just a couple guys talking about our workouts but I thought that was going just a little too far. :D

T2 Trucker, Go to the women's only site (no guys allowed). I don't know if they will talk to you. Not to friendly when I guy goes in & tries to talk.

Good Luck, Let us know how it goes.

Whats up Fellas??

Been running around alot lately ,not much time for PC.But I will update my progress.I lost about 15lbs.since I last posted.Lately I have cut back on the artificial sweetners I talked about in my earlier posts.Been putting some fruit in my cereal instead of splenda. Also been eating breakfest,{sometimes forcing my self because Im not very hungry early in the morning. But that sometimes consists of eggwhite, piece of smoked salmon, and 100% whole wheat toast 1 slice.Lots of protien, and that has been giving me much needed energy that was missing. No more Bagels.Even have a piece of cold broiled chicken breast some brown rice,It doesnt have to be breakfest type foods.Lots of salads.some fruit,I try to watch the sugar in the fruit, but its better then the refined sugar.watch those cereals you buy too.Lots of sugar in them.Lots of water also.1 gallon aday at least.Thats all I got for now.Hope you all are doing well.Keep the good news coming.

Hey! I didn't notice we had a "He-Man Woman Haters Club" here..... good deal.

There should be a butt-load less drama in here ;)

I propose a few rules... like outlawing political correctness, any word spelled with a feminist twist (womyn etc) and no damn doilies..... :D

Yes, it is very quiet.

How'd the weigh-in go?

Bear, Im so friggen sick right now, it's like hay fever or something that I'm wanting to eat everything in sight. I had done really good, and I guess I need to buy a scale because I started with what the doctor scale said. Anyone recommend a decent scale. Thanks for asking.

I will soon be in the market for a scale as well, actually. The one I have is pretty sorry. I am going to move in about two weeks and will get a new scale then.

I don't like the prospect of moving. I find it hard to maintain my diet when there a change in routine.

BigBear & Turtle, I bought a doctors scale, one of the best things I have ever bought. Have had it about 15 - 20 years.

Good luck on your move BigBear. It is hard to be dieting when your doing something different. If you go off your diet don't sweat it, just get back on when your back to a regular routine.

True, Trout. I will just have get up, dust myself off, and get back on the wagon. I have been living in Korea for the last three years and will soon be returning to the US. There is going to be a lot of very rich food that I will want to dive into. I have got to keep the same discipline I have now or I will be lost.

Are doctor's scales pricey? I will take a looksy on-line.

Let me know what you find I just got this Taylor scale, it's digital and goes up to 330LBS so I shouldn't kill it with one step.:) I'm Like Troutman though I like to buy something that really works good sometimes, there is just so much cheap junk out there anymore.

I finally got in the 2oo's, my sinus infection set me back but I jumped right back on my diet after I felt better. That's the one thing I have learned about eating right. If you screw up, don't forget about it and go right back to eating bad, go back to eating good. You know what I mean. Feels better having 10 pounds off me too.
