Mail truck exercise

Hello,
I am a letter carrier, and on my breaks I like to go in the back of my truck and do some stretches and simple exercises such as dips, push ups, crunches, etc. Sometimes if I can find a private spot at a dead end or something I will get out and do a plyometric leg routine, but other than that, I was wondering what some good things may be to do in the back of the truck. I have been trying to research isometrics but there really isn't too many actual exercises I could find that seem like they would benefit. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Wow. I too am a letter carrier. I usually would only have room to exercise in my truck at the end of the day. I'm thinking you could do lifts with full trays of mail, that or bent-over rows. Leg raises and a variety of other abdominal exercises--maybe even the entire regimen of Navy Seal exercises for the abdomen. I'm not at work today (thank goodness--it's a blizzard), but I think there's a lip around the roof of the truck. You are driving an FFV are you not? You could use that lip for pullups. If nothing else, you'd get strong fingers. On the outside of the truck you could do step-ups onto the back bumper, or raised leg pushups using the bumper as well.

Anyway, that's all I could come up with at the spur of the moment. Good luck with your routine. How long have you been in the mail carrying business?

Cool to see a fellow carrier. I have been for about 7 months now, not too long. Ya I definitely don't have too much room until the end of the day though, but sometimes I will just move as much as I can up front to make some room. I like those ideas though, it never really came to me to use the trays of mail along with it. I have used tubs full of outgoing mail on my lap during dips for some resistance. I'm not sure what the FFV is, but we have the LLV, the little aluminum boxes haha. Thanks for those ideas though. Doing pull-ups on the rear lip will work for sure too.

And hardgainer, I do go to the gym after I get out of night school, but I was just looking for some isometric or plyometric exercises I can do during the day as well. Plus, I get way too bored just sitting there on a lunch break
