Lower Back Pain

Hi there
Last year at end of july in gym due to doing some hard exercises and overlifting i got some back pain .which is still not going.its not to painful but still it does allow me to do several works and i m also not doing gym from that time.now its nearly a year. i m doing some physiotherapy and some exercises but it snt help a lot. Can someone please suggest me or give me some good advice. i m very worried abt my condition.

You should probably go talk with your doctor. They might want you to go to a different physical therapist that stresses core strength. Not to mention you might need to take some time off from working out to allow it to fully heal. That's the problem with most, they never let it fully heal so it just festers.

Def talk with your doc.

Def go see a doctor and ask about a different physio. 12 months on you should have been seeing improvement in your condition. Core strength is a must. Avoid any exercises which cause even a little pain in the afflicted area. Do you have a regular stretch routine. If not I suggest you start one. If you feel you must still train then keep it light for the time being. As personal experience has taught me, working through the pain of an injury does not allow it to heal.

I agree with your advice on this issue

After consulting a specialist to make sure you don't have any serious problems, I would focus on strengthening your back. I have suffered from back pain for years and did the "avoid any movement that angers it" strategy. It obviously didn't work. I started focusing on strengthening my back and after some rather sore sessions, I have to say that it does feel better.

I would suggest some GHD exercises and situps. Also, start doing some olympic lifts with extremely light weights.
