Lost 40 lbs since September- hitting bit of a wall.

Hi- I have been "dieting" since September. I started at 318 and I am at 280-so almost 40 lbs :) I have been monitoring calories, eating higher protein and going to Canadian Bariatric Clinic and following doctors suggestions i.e increased protein, frequent eating, etc. I am also talking weight loss medication, Meridia. I have been having tough time- I hit a real wall over December where it seemed i was losing and gaining the same 5 lbs over and over again. I have really only lost about 10 lbs since late November- and even then most of that was lost in January. Been hard to stay motivated! I have also started doing yoga and LOVE it.
 
Welcome Linda!!! I also started out nearly th same weight as you and have lost almost 50 pounds and then almost hit a wall. I certainly do not loose weight as fast as I did the first 8 weeks. But does it really matter? even if you and I lost just one pound every week, we would still be moving towards our gaol!

but living on a diet for a long time does not really work for most of us. It becomes hard. But changing eating habits and getting more exercise is going to be so much better than being on a constant diet!!!. I hope you will find lots of support here and keep moving towards your goals realizing that diets are just a fix not a lifetime solution....
