I did a weight loss contest, but let me first tell you how I got to the point of needing to do it...I'll mention more about the contest later. I don't have time to go into it all.

Okay so 2 years ago when I got married, I lost 35 pounds due to some profound insights I had about maintaining a healthy body weight. I realized that for so long in my life (a period of about 6 years) I had been slowly gaining about 6 pounds per year. It wasn't anything major so it didn't blow me away till I saw what had happened.

This all happened while I also had a misconception about maintaining a healthy bodyweight for my type of metabolism. What I had always thought was that I could exercise myself into the right weight. But that alone wasn't enough, I had to restrict my calories. Novel thought, right? No, really I really hadn't considered this. For some reason I always just figured I needed to work out more, I didn't know that I couldn't just run myself into thinness.

Anyway I want to write more but later! (One more thing, I did do a weight loss contest on a site called weight wars and it was fun. Don't know if it works for everyone like it did for me, because it's kind of a non-conventional way of dieting, I guess...but it really got my blood boiling which is exactly what I needed to spur me into action!)
