Hey...My Weight was 317+ pounds 46 days back.. Now I have lost 24 pounds since then(as of today's reading)..But I need to lose so much more ..I used to be below 200lbs once.. a few years back..I am 27... Sigh..I feel so lonely ..And such a long way to go.I need to lose another 100+pounds..Any comments that might cheer me up? I have not discussed my current weight or weight loss with many people..

keep your chin up! That's really the only, and the best, advice I can give. You're making huge strides in the right direction. Focus on that, rather than the long way ahead you seem to go.. Maybe break your goal up into smaller goals? Maybe that'll make it seem more obtainable for you?

I agree with cukorka.... small steps! Even if its only one pound in a week...that is still one pound you no longer have to lug around! Notice how jeans or shirts are fitting...or when you look in the mirror you notice something different. I have lost 35 lbs and i still feel like i haven't went anywhere. But this morning I told my mom that my legs seem to be a little smaller and she said "you've lost alot in your middle too". So even if you maybe don't see it...other people may notice the differences! 24 pounds is an awesome achievement! Don't forget that part!

You didn't gain 100lbs over night. It's easy to gain than to lose but it comes off the same way it goes on. Too much food and not enough exercise and on it goes. Eat less and exercise more and it comes off. Be realistic. It's going to take you a YEAR or more to lose that. Focus on the horizon not on the sidewalk in front of you. Every day you lose even an ounce is a day you're getting better.

You're not alone in the slightest.

When I dropped my initial 30 lbs at the start of my new diet and exercise routine, I barely saw a difference. It was really disheartening that I had lost the weight of that of a small child, but yet, nothing. I really wanted to give up. I was seeing no results and I still had a pretty significant amount of weight that I still had to lose. It was torture trying to keep myself motivated.

A couple more weeks went by and then I had lost a total of 50 pounds, but I could start to see a difference. My butt is rounder and lifted up more, and my legs look more defined. My boobs got smaller, but they look awesome and my face isn't anywhere near as round anymore.

After seeing an actual difference, I know I won't give up. I don't know if it works for everybody, but once you get a taste of what you're going to have at the end of this struggle, it's like crack. Yeah, it still seems far away, but don't think about it that way. Think of yourself as art, and that you're molding your body into however you think you should look as a piece of art. I even try to be thankful for the time, because it's giving me an opportunity to really work on areas of my body that I never liked before, like my butt.

I know you can do it. It maybe awhile, but one day you'll be posting before and after pictures like nobodies business. I'm proud of you and keep it up~!

Update: Now lost 33 pounds..Same story..lol Barely can notice the difference but a little happier..

Wana be my weight loss partner:p

Small steps/goals are indeed key!

The very first night I decided I was truly sick of being so heavy, I tried to go for a walk. I made it all of 1/10 of a mile before I was out of breath and my back felt like it was going to snap. I ended up walking a total of 1 mile that night, and it was torture to me.

Yet, the next night I went back and walked 1.1 miles, and the next I walked 1.1 miles but did it about 20 seconds quicker than the night before. Skip ahead to now, and I currently walk at least 3 miles a day 5 days a week, and have gone from walking at a rate of 2.2 mph to anywhere from 3.0 to 3.4 mph. Every night from the start of my weight loss until now, I have looked for the little signs that prove I am making progress.

Even though I may not see much difference when I look in the mirror, I have had many people say that they have noticed I have lost weight. More important for me personally, my back feels a million times better. Although I still have a long way to go in terms of weight loss, it feels so good to be able to walk around a store without having to lean against something every two minutes because I am out of breath and my back is on fire.

I know it seems like your goal is light years away, but as others have said, just look for little signs of progress. Time has a way of passing quick enough if you let it. Just keep at it!

Keep with it!!! All those pounds are going to add up!!! Have you thought about taking measurments? Thats one way to see the results. Its a slow progress....but well worth it!

Thanks for asking:p I really feel good about sharing..

Any progress??
One of the rare times when I feel great about sharing my weight loss story:p

Here:As of yesterday's weigh in I have lost 33.7 pounds.. Thanks for support guys..You have no idea what it means to me.. I don't know many people who have weight problem as much as I do and are losing weight..
Its good I have Wii board to save progress or I would keep doubt in the integrity of scale or authenticity of my earlier weigh inz lol
I have started to feel a little good..But there is still a long way to go. But milestones keep you going:)

"Focus on the horizon not on the sidewalk in front of you."

I love that line. Good one caddyguy!

Congrats on the weight loss deepblue.

I think we all want to see faster results. The problem I tend to have, is that the faster it comes off....the faster it comes back on.

The good news is you are doing it....and rather well I might add.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Keep up the great work.....you will be a big motivator to a lot of people!
