lost 110 pounds! need a 6 pack now!

Ye I know ....nothing can make stretch marks dissapear unfortunatly .....we live in the year 2009...can go to the moon....but get rid of loose skin? forget about that:(

Iv been training weights consistently since I originally posted here , I have gained about 8 KG/s of muscle ...wich aint too bad but still room for improvement.

The sad fact behind it is that it takes a long time for us to lose weight, and an even longer time to put it back on (the right kind). I was reading somewhere and it said you can only put on about a half a pound of muscle on per week. Personally, I think that's a bit low.

The reason you're not seeing your abs yet is because you don't really have a lot of muscle, and your body fat percentage is still above around 8%. No amount of situps, crunches, or weighted ab machines are going to pull them out for you. You need to keep working out (high weight low reps to gain strength/mass) and eat a bit less. The muscles you build will destroy the remaining fat you have around your belly and you'll start to see results.

I could be wrong here, but this makes logical sense. Fat in your body is just stored nutrients. So, while you still have some on you, you don't need to eat more to gain muscle because it'll feed on your remaining fat.

Unfortunatly , from what I have been told from body builders , losing fat and gaining muscle is a very hard thing to do....

although in "logic" you are right that your fat is stored nutrients....SOO is your muscle stored nutrients to your body.....but the main difference is , is muscle consumes energy , wile fat doesent....soo if your eating less...the first place your body will go for food is? Muscle!.
I know , it sux ...but thats always the case!
Obviosly I cannot judge for myself , but how do I look in terms of muscular? should I focus more on weight training and gaining mass or try to cut down on mass?

thanks for the replys:)

Hey, you look great! I wouldn't worry too much about your loose skin -- it is not drastic and I have a feeling that, given some time as your body continues to change, it will shrink (and your muscle will expand to help kind of fill it).

I have the same goal, too - six-pack abs. I set my timeline for this goal to 9 months from now, though it may happen earlier. According to the calculator at , which is just a rough estimate, I have 15.0% body fat today. 177cm height, 82.9kg weight, 42cm neck, 87cm waist. BMI is calculated at 26.5. By pulling fat with my hand and doing a mental estimation, I still have between 5-8kg of fat to lose on my thighs, stomach, and back. Losing the last bits is really slow and hard work. You can play around with the calculator to see where you need to be to have less than 10% bodyfat, just change the weight and waist measurements and click the calculate button again.

Abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym. Revealing your six-pack is 80% diet and 20% exercise. This is a hard pill to swallow, but 500 crunches (or hours in the gym) a day will not reveal your six-pack - your diet will. Eat the right diet, and you only need 40 crunches a day to have nice abs. Eat the wrong diet, and no amount of exercise in the world will reveal them. I didn't even have visible abs at 77kg when I was in the army and we did heavy workouts and long runs nearly every day, but I didn't control my diet at all. I ate anything I wanted to eat and for me, that has always meant high carbs.

Time for a reality check: managing insulin levels with a low carb diet will reveal the six-pack.

put on some real muscle mass. no need for tummy tuck, the guy in the pic you chopped probably has a good 35-45 lbs of more muscle than you do. time to start bodybuilding. lift hard lift heavy, and get plenty of rest. and make sure you up your protein when putting on the beef. wanna see abs start putting 45lbs plate on your chest when doing sit ups. see if your abs dont get wider and thicker with that. abs are like legs you wanna make them bigger do squats, dont run.

Yea, just pick one goal and stick to it. You aren't going to bulk up muscle while losing fat. You can't lose if you are eating too much and you can't gain if you are eating too little. So its just not possible (except in weird circumstances for beginners). You could cut in the summer and bulk in the winter or something. Still, continue to lift while cutting to maintain muscle mass.

You probably won't ever look like that picture (everyone looks different) but you can get to a point where you're happy if you work at it.
