Losing weight

Hey Everyone!

I'm Dee. I'm 20 years of age, weigh 190 lbs and stand at 5'0 (short & fat=not a good combo :-/ ). I really want to start on my weight loss journey because i'd like to be at least 145 or smaller. However, when I try to do sit ups or crunches, after doing about 10-15, I get a sharp stabbing pain in my stomach that stays there for like 10 minutes after I stop. I was wondering if anyone might know what the cause of this is? I went to the hospital to get checked out and they said some bs about me having IBS which to me in my interpretation doesn't explain the pain accrued when working out. Also, if anyone has any suggestions as to things I can do to prevent this or alternatives, please feel free to comment :) Thanks!

Hey dc! So glad you have embarked on this journey. We're here for ya!

First off you don't ever have to do one sit up or crunch to work your core. I can't explain the pain you get when doing but I do know that there are many alternatives to working your core without ever even sitting on the floor.

You also need to focus on your diet. Working out is only 20% of the fitness game. Your diet is the other 80%, no joke. Lots of veggies, lean protein and complex carbs. Stay away from the processed crap and fast food. However many steps you take forward, this crap will put you ten back! Let me know if you would like to have some workout suggestions. I've got lots of em!

Good Luck dc! Talk soon :)
