I have lost 4.5lbs this week (139lbs-134.5lbs). I undertsand healthy weightloss is 1-2lbs per week. I was at a weight plateau for quite a while, so I'm glad my weight has finally started going down again. I'm worried I might be being too drastic, but I haven't been starving myself at all. I haven't kept track of calories, but I know I've been eating much more than 1200 calories per day. I eat three meals plus a couple snacks during the day. I'v been eating healthy foods (chicken, pork, salmon, lots of veggies, salads, whole grain pastas, rice, yams, nuts, fruit, 1% milk). I don't think I've been missing any of the major food groups and I've been drinking lots of water.
I have been working out at home (three times this week ~ 30min each), but I've been doing more strength training than cardio (10min cardio to 20min strength training). None of my workouts have been very intense and I always eat a little something before and after working out. I've been snowed in my house, so I really haven't been burning a pile of calories by walking all that much (ok I did go to the mall yesterday), but in general I've just been on the computer and in front of the tv.
I'm very happy that I've lost this much; I just want to make sure it's healthy weight loss. I have no desire to gain it all back again or to lose muscle mass. What do you guys think? Should I just be glad about the weight loss and keep going or should I make some changes to my routine?
