Losing weight but not dress size?

I've been losing weight almost 30 pounds...but I can still get into my old jeans...I can wear a smaller size, but its kinda tight...I can tell my old jeans are a little baggy in the rear part (not the part where I want to lose weight! :D ) and in the legs...but not too much in the waist...
Is it possible to lose weight and not go down a size... I always thought losing 15 pounds you dropped a size...kinda frustrating at the moment...just curious to see if anyone is also in the same boat....

I think it depends on how much you weigh. I weigh a lot, so it took me losing 30lbs before I was in a smaller size. It also depends on where your weight comes off first. My weight came mostly off my face and neck/shoulders area, or at least thats where I can see the biggest difference. But yeah, if a 135lb girl gained 15lbs, she would probably be a size bigger, but for me, if I lost 15lbs, i wouldnt be a size smaller.

I can see what you are saying...I started out weighing 222.50 and now I weigh 194...and still can get into size 18's...I can wear old navy size 16's but its not that flattering if you know what I mean....my problem area is my stomach and waist...its horrible its not going anywhere!!!!

Maybe you could try toneing up a bit? I dont know what exercise you do now but that might be enough to slim you down into a smaller size.

Congrats on losing the 30lbs by the way!

Ahhhhh.. Dotn get discouraged...

Your problem areas are waist and belly...... Nuff said..

Typically those are most peoples problem areas and often time the first place to gain weight, and the last place to lose it. Also common is people like yourself (and me) can barely see the 30 pounds lost because it has come off in areas we arent paying attention to. Without special calipers and tools it is hard to determine exactly what is getting skinnier and when. I know its not the best thing to know your amrpits, backs of your knees, earlobes and calves are smaller, but the human body does things its own way. Bottom line.

The very fact you lost 30 pounds already is fantastic and should be an indication you are well on your way. I too lost 30 pounds so far and in my own eyes I dont look too different. But everyone else says I look great.

Keep at it though since you appear to have the correct recipe for success. That belly and waist will eventually go away, but in the meantime, there is nothing you can do to make it go at any other pace than its own.

The places I always lose the weight first are my Legs, face, chest and then eventualy my belly and arms... I hate it but it's true.. The belly and arms are my hardest area's and the ones I want gone first! lol

I agree keep it up and you will see things change in that area. Good luck!:)

I've noticed this too. I think my clothes may fit a little differently, like a little roomier in the rear, but the waist hasn't changed and yep that belly is still there!

But it is true that other people can notice what you can't. A couple of weeks ago my boyfriend made a comment about the pants I was wearing and how they looked great on me (they felt and looked the same to me), that I'm doing great at the gym, etc, etc. Then about a week ago we were talking and he was describing my face (sweetly, he was talking about all the things he sees when he looks at me) and called it "oval". I've always considered my face to be round because I'm so overweight, but I think that's changing.

Then just last night he was rubbing me arm and he said "your arms are getting smaller". I guess it makes sense that he would notice that more than me....so it's encouraging.

I've lost 15 pounds but I think I have another month or so on my current routine before I see a clothing size change.

It will happen- just keep on moving! :)

When I first started losing it took at least 20-25 pounds to drop a pant size.

I think my clothes started out pretty tight too ;)
