losing weight and staying away from the tv

im 15, 170 pounds, 5' 8''...i just wanna kno wat i can do to stay away from the tv, really my only options that i can think of that are actually semi good for exercise are playing basketball in my front yard, riding my bike, or...idk walking around my neighborhood for 20 minutes...anyway i really want some help from you guys to give me some ideas of other stuff i can do, i spend a lot of time inside in front of the tv or computer, and usually if i find myself outside a lot i only stay out for about 30 min...so stuff for a 15 year old to do around his neighborhood for exercise?
 
how about doing some sports with friends? Go socialize with your pals a bit more. Instead of sitting behind the computer/tv all day, you could go visit them and have a game of soccer or something like that (make it something you like.) Also, exersising with some music (do you have an mp3-player or something similar?) makes it a lot more fun as well. I actually like to go out running now because of it.

Remember, you don't have to totally "quit" sitting behind the computer/tv, because that is pretty much impossible if you like doing it so much. Just do some sports, and then you can reward yourself by spending a couple of mins behind the comp or tv.
 
great idea aevans, kinda dumb I didn't think to put that up. Yeah martial arts is the best. Best thing is you don't need equipment, or a lot of space. Just motivation. You can practise anywhere :)

If you have a treadmill, you should move it near the television...so you can watch tv while you run. LOLS i always do that. :D or if you don't have a treadmill, jump rope while you watch tv!
 
basketball, kickball, tennis (we played in the street, no net, or hit against garage door)... rollerblading, yard work/gardening
