Losing motivation

I used to be very strict about exercising. I would do 30 minutes-1 hour of cardio 5 times a week on an elliptical trainer, along with weights (split workout) 5 times a week as well. (Yes, I was probably overdoing the cardio a bit) I did all of that for about 6 months until I had to go to a hospital. (I was there for 3 months) I was still able to exercise some, but not nearly as much as I used to. I do admit that I had an eating disorder that was a bit out of control before I went to the hospital (purging and restricting calories), but I no longer struggle with any of that. I gained about 11 pounds while staying there, and I lost about 6 pounds after I came back home. This was probably due to me exercising again (but not nearly as much as I used to) and mainly just being able to walk around more often. I was told by an eating disorder specialist there that I shouldn't be exercising for an hour, so I've only been doing the elliptical trainer for 30 minutes since I've been back home. I was able to get back into my normal exercise routine at first, but I've gotten really lazy about it lately. To be honest, I've probably only exercised (elliptical trainer+weights) about 3-4 times in the past 3 weeks. HOW COULD I LET MYSELF GET AWAY WITH THAT?! I used to be so good about exercising 5 days a week, and look at me now! One of the reasons of why I haven't been exercising as much lately is probably because I've been functioning on about 1-5 hours of sleep each day. I'll tell myself during the day that I'll exercise when I get home from school, but by the time I actually get home I am way too tired to do anything but sit on the computer! :( I know, I need to start going to bed at a normal time. I usually stay up late because I'm doing things on the computer or talking on the phone.
So, my main question is: How do I get back into my old exercise routine again?
I'm about 5'7-5'8 and I currently weigh 130 lbs. I weighed around 125 lbs before I went to the hospital. My highest weight there was around 137 lbs.
I haven't had my old, ridiculous fear of getting fat lately, so that's another reason of why I'm not as strict when it comes to exercising anymore.
I'm surprised that I haven't gained any weight from being so "unactive" lately, and I keep telling myself that if I notice an increase in my weight, I will start exercising again.
I've been quite the procrastinator lately telling myself things like:
"I'll exercise at 7:30 PM." and before I know it, it's 9:00 PM and I don't have any more time to workout.
"I'll just take a nap and when I wake up I'll get on the elliptical trainer."
Hah! When I finally do wake up from my 1-2 hour nap it's night time and I'm too tired to exercise.
I'm thinking about purchasing an exercise DVD, because I'm a bit bored with using my elliptical trainer all of the time. I find it easy to use because I can watch TV while on it, and time goes by much faster when I'm distracted.
Okay, enough of my complaining. Does anyone have any good advice?

Karate Kid is also a decent inspirational tool; 'You're The Best' ("You're the best...... around, no-ones ever gonna keep you down") is right up there with the Rocky theme.

I hope no-one ever overhears my Gym playlist on my mp3.

You might be oversleeping.

Do you drink coffee? If so, have a cup as you're waking up.

Get an MP3 player or put a TV in front of the elliptical.

Listen to a book on tape/CD, perhaps buy a lecture on DVD/Tape/CD and listen while you workout.

But one thing is certain, don't overtrain. That's a motivation killer.

Get a total lifestyle makeover. Get responsible for you body and your life. Eat enough, sleep enough, workout enough. The other things are excuses and they will always be there.

I'd get started on a plan. Call the hospital you where in and let them know that you need a bit of guidance. You should not feel guilt about not working out. Your height/weight are already low.

At this point a solid eating plan and a great workout routine... combined with proper rest and hydration is enough to get you started. I regularly post 5 tips to fat loss on these boards. Amazingly... rest is one of them :) Here they are.... hope it helps...

1) Eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day. Each meal should be 2-3 hours apart. Each meal should contain one protein and one carb. The first meal should be eaten within an hour after waking.

2) Drink a cup of water at each meal.

3) Rest properly. This means taking at least 48 hours between strength training the same muscles, and it also means getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Lastly, it means taking 1-2 days off from exercising per week.

4) Cardio. This should be done at different intensity levels and different session lengths. Consider doing a low intensity/long session, a high intensity/short session and a few medium intensity/medium length sessions.

5) Strength Training. Strength train each muscle 1-3 times per week. You should lift a proper weight and perform the proper amount of sets/reps for your strength training method. If you need more guidance or exercise ideas you can head over

All of the above things combined will result in fat loss.
