Losing belly fat

Hi there,

I am wondering what tools would work best to help loose belly fat. I'm 31, about 225 lbs, and I have the typical beer belly type of belly. In my early 20's I weighed about 145 lbs, but after turning 21 I started drinking beer on the average of a six pack a weekend for many years. At age 29 I quit smoking and replaced that with food, at that time I weighed about 200 lbs. Since I quit smoking I jumped to 225 and I have managed to stay at that weight. about a year ago I worked out a lot by watching Gilads Bodies in motion on FitTV. I did that for about 3 months and I don't think I lost a lot of weight but I know I gained some muscle plus I felt better, but i just stopped, not sure why but I just did.

Now I want to get back into it and I looked up what are the best ways to lose belly fat, thats really my biggest problem. I found that cardiovascular exercise and weight training are the best two combinations to loose belly fat. To get to my point, what is good for cardiovascular work? Are those elliptical machines good, exercise bikes?

Also are those smaller home gyms good for weight training?

Thanks and sorry for the long story, I look forward to your replies.

My husband had a belly for a while. He lost alot of it walking outdoors 2-3 miles per day (4 times a week). Recently he has been riding the stationery bike at the gym for 30-40minutes at a moderate pace and his belly has reduced significantly.

Also he stopped eating late at night! ;)

Losing weight is mainly about creating a calorie deficit - that is... Calories Burned>Calories Taken In. Adjusting the latter helps a lot but you need to have some nutrients to support a full workout program (to create a bigger deficit). If you limit your intake too much your body goes into starvation mode, and will store as fat just about anything you put into your mouth.

Many years ago, I had this issue, as well and had no idea where to start. I began simply watching what I ate, walking at night and doing some mild weight lifting (though being absolutely clueless about what I was actually shooting for).

Nevertheless, I saw dramatic gains and dropped the 80 lbs. I'd put on the few years prior in under a year. Sure, I hit a plateau and had to start thinking much more about my goals, working on routines, etc., but for a very long while long, rapid walks a healthy diet and minimal weight lifting worked for me and at least got me to the next phase.

Good luck. I hope that helps.

hi!, you will kill belly fat eating six times at day, because this will keep active your metabolism, but you have to keep in mind what kind of food you are gonna eat to regulate your blood sugar level and so create the fat burning effect! also you have to do some workout!!
