Losing 1 or 2 pounds each week

I heard it's healthy to lose 1 or 2 pounds each week to make sure you're not losing muscle but fat. If anyone seen Celebrity Fitclub they lose 8 or so pounds every 2 weeks but they lose only fat. How's it possible without losing muscle and whats the maximum someone can lose weight a week.

Could be water weight, could be colonics, who knows. Losing more than a pound a week really hits on cutting back the calories severly. A pound a week is good enough.

When I first started losing weight, I dropped 10 lbs the first week and a half. Mostly water weight. It slows up if you do it right.

They are losing water weight most likely. But also realize the more body fat you have the quicker it comes off in the beginning. Ever realize how the heavier participants are given higher weight loss goals than someone with a smaller weight? Thats why.

Yeah... I've heard something like 1% of body weight per week tops. So a 450 pound person could lose 4.5 pounds per week, no problem, but if you're 130 pounds trying to get to 115 pounds or something, then stick to something like 1 pound a week.

i used to lose about 1-2lb a week but now im not losing anything it sucks, im just at 124lb and im 5,9 maybe im not ment to go donw much lower but i so want to get down to 119-120

Good luck

You're just plateau-ing right now. I go through that too, but you can lose 1-2 lbs a week if you change something in your diet (more maintenance calories if you're below) or exercise routine same thing every week? Change.
Sometimes you just need to jump start your week with a cheat meal and take a day off from working out. Your body needs to keep re-conditioning itself.

Your Done!

zah zah, 5'9" at 124lbs? You must be looking AWESOME!

I think you just go into maintenance & fine tuning mode now. Lose any more and you'll start to look sickly. Don't worry about the scale. Look in the mirror and ask yourself do you really need to lose 4 more lbs.?
