Hi everyone.
In the last two years I've put on 2 stone in weight. Every day I wake up and think to myself "Jesus I should really start working out again", and I'm sick to death of it so I started to exercise today. I'm a 24 year old male. I used to be very fit as a teenager but when I went to college I stopped exercising completely. My current weight is 11.5 stone (161 pounds) and I'm 5ft 3" in height. Being completely honest, the majority of my weight is liquid as I hit the booze pretty hard the last couple of years due to stress and relationship issues. I've finally knocked the drink on the head completely and would like to be 9.5-10 stone by Christmas time. Is this an unrealistic goal? Is it healthy to lose this much weight in this period of time?
Here's my diet and exercise plan. Any/all input is welcome!
Diet
Breakfast - 2 hard-boiled eggs, teaspoon light mayo, 1 slice wholemeal bread with small amount light spread, 1 serving all bran / crunchy nut corn flakes with low-fat milk and some fruit (kiwi or banana), 1 medium orange or half grapefruit.
Lunch - Baked potato, side salad with cucumber, pickled onions, lettuce, (no coleslaw/potato salad/dressings etc), lean meat (salmon fillet, chicken/turkey/ham etc)
Supper - Chicken breast/can tuna in brine/any lean meat with vegetables.
Notes - no complex carbs for supper (potatoes/rice/bread/pasta etc)
Drink 2 litres of water per day.
Exercise
Visit the gym 2/3 times per week. Preferably Monday, Wednesday, Saturday.
Lots of cardio work: Running, cycling, rowing, swimming, sit ups.
10-15 mins in the sauna.
Lifting some weights: Dumbells for 10 mins, benching for 10 mins.
Should I go to the gym before or after my supper? I'm thinking after my supper as it would be bad to be eating food after 7pm/8pm.
Thanks again for your input. I've been trying to work up the effort to do this for a long time. I just got back from the gym and I'm off to go shopping for some healthy food.
