HEHE your all loosers!... I wanna be one too!:biggrinjester:

I'm Ack, I've been slowly reading through all the posts. (I try to not sit at the computer as much as I used to)

You all seem like a lovely group of people and we already have loads in common, :grouphug: I am fat and have been all of my adult life. I was a chubby kid too so .... ok Ive had problems with my weight for-EVer.

March-Dec 2006 I lost 5 stone, thats 70lbs. Eating nothing but sandwiches and I was walking all the time, I got bored and lazy. I had what appears to be a psychotic episode. I was convinced I was preggers so much that my body enacted the whole pregnancy and I gained 4 stone back. :piggy: I watched "Half Ton Dad" on tv a month or two ago and it sickened me, being bed ridden would be the worst thing ever. It was a slap in the face to get my shit together and do it again.

I realize I will never be a person who can eat what they want to, and I need to change my habits completely (which I did before) but I lacked the support that you all so willingly give. So thanks to you all for sharing your lives its been a great encouragment to me to get back on track and stop messing around.

I've kept a weight book for a couple of years now. Heres the highlights:
(oh I'm 5'4 by the way)

March '06 22.1 stone/309lbs
July '07 16.13 stone/237lbs
Jun '08 20.6 stone/286lbs

So this is me... well part of me.. Im a very complex person.. NOT haha.. btw I love to laugh! If I offend tell me.. but always be honest.. I hate liars.

P.S. your all privledged people my weight book stays under lock and key, no prying eyes allowed

Hi Ack!!! Love your attitude it's awesome!!! I think i saw that episode...was taht the one of the guy in Mexico (i think) ??? that was bed ridden and he had that g/f that her parents didnt want her to date him??
I'm a type of person too that just can't eat whatever...i'll blow up like a freakin balloon!!! I love breads and pastas and pizza and anything cheese UGH....and if i try to have a little "portion" of that ...i'll go over board..so i just stay away from it....WOW you lost a lot of weight!!!! you can do it again!!! hell we can do it together!!!! I need support and motivation myself!! We can do it!!! Good LUck on your journey!!!:waving::hurray:

Hi Ack

Well done for starting this task again and losing 6 pounds - that's nearly half a stone and a great start!

Having already lost 5 stone - you have a good idea of many of the basic ideas - you just need to do it. The only problem is that it does require motivation and hard work.

I had lots of failed attempts before this one - and I think that the biggest difference is that I made walking a crucial element. I go out walking every day - and if I do my walk I consider that I am having a good day. If I eat healthily I consider my day better again. The thing is that I have two ways of feeling that I have had a productive day - through walking and through eating healthily. I focus more on make everything that I eat nutritionally sound - to avoid getting into the numbers game of thinking that 300 calories worth of protein and veg is the same as 300 calories of chocolate or other less healthy stuff. It seemed to be fairly self regulating for me as I found that I could eat an awful lot of healthy stuff and still lose weight.

When I started walking I was a similar size to yourself - and I found that I did not need to walk quickly for it to make a great contribution towards my weightloss. Whoever first came up with the idea that you had to walk briskly for it to be of any benefit should be strung up in my opinion. They clearly were not thinking of larger people. When I was 21 stone I couldnt do anything briskly. That phrase actually stopped me from walking in a weight loss attempt 12 years ago after I had started walking. I thought "what am I bothering for if it is not going to help". It probably kept me morbidly obese for 12 extra years.

I found that as I got stronger I naturally speeded up - and that was great. Obviously there is a benefit to walking further or faster. The main thing is to walk though.

Read around the forum for tons of advice on things like nutrition etc.

Good luck with your project.

Best wishes
Margaret

Thanks guys :D I think I will start a diary, then you can see my plan all in one spot.

:D Omega your right walking works:iagree:.. that was how I lost before, only problem is even after almost 7 years in England I still hate the weather :ack2: I get cold even wearing long johns:cool: (originally from Virgina where its warm) Im incorporating indoors activities as well this time so I dont have to walk as far.

Ill start a diary............. to be continued... hehe...:coolgleamA:
