hey guys im pretty new to this, first post but have been lurking a couple of weeks. my names tony, i am a Male 22, im in the middle of my weight loss journey, i started at 197kg in january and am now weighing in at 169kg as of today, its coming off slowly but surely, i am eating 3 balanced healthy meals a day and going to the gym 3 days per week,

the problem is i am worried about loose skin especially around my abdomen, i know i have a long way to go but i would just realistically like to know what someone of my profile (male 22) can expect to look like when im finished, i am planning on tryin to tone my abs more as my belly gets smaller as i find it difficult as it is so big now. i believe the younger you are the better chance you have of skin going back to "normal" however if anyone of similar age and/or weight had pictures of themselves after this much weight loss as i cant find any on here even in "before and after" (my goal is around 90kg,)

thank you in advance any help would be greatly appreciated

I haven't been through it but i am old enough to know a little bit about loose skin. You will be fine. You have nothing to worry about. Yes you may have lost some elasticity however it won't show while you are young. It will only show when you are old and then it will happen in such a way that you won't realise its due to your misspent youth.

The people who have the biggest problems with loose skin are women after childbirth because they put on weight so very fast. They can improve their situation considerably by exercising during pregnancy.

Also people who spend a great deal of time in teh sun. I"m one of those and i am now paying the price. When i run the skin on my thighs shakes. Its not fat, its skin. but when i am walking about etc, it doesn't show. It does show in my face though because my face sags more than it would if i hadn't spent so much of my youth in the sun.

Don't forget that skin is thin. If you have a loose tyre of about 1 inch or more, its mainly fat.

Hi Tonym,

I understand what you mean, I have just started a new diet and exercise regime with the aid of phentermine, and am noticing loose skin around my abdomen and thighs as this is where I carry my weight. Unfortunately other than building muscle tone and trying to use bio-oil, or rose-hip oil to help keep some elasticity in the skin I have considered surgery, when I reach my goal weight - which I am far from. I have seen the procedure on television, it isn't nice, but I hate my stomach and the looseness of it already. I understand and it really does suck, I don't think many people talk about it. It's the hidden side of major weight loss, no one wants to talk about it, and everyone seems to have the surgery or keep the skin and live with it.

I applaud your effort, that's amazing weight loss! I hope you continue going so well, I can only hope my efforts will be nearly as rewarding and successful as yours.
