Here is a quick rundown of where I started and currently are, in Feb 2010, I was 265 lbs and I am 6' 1". I went on to about a 1600 to 2000 calorie a day diet, did kickboxing and some interval training, did this for 6 months. I dropped 75 lbs., I was lean but still had a small ring around the lower abdomen and love handles. Not as much as I did, I have a slight 4 pack. Can be seen after workouts. So I added running on the treadmill for 6 months, I did kickboxing and treadmill, half hour each, 6 days a week, I ran for half hour straight at 8 miles an hours. I only lost 15 more pounds, however I started to look gaunt in the face, and legs. My doctor and physiotherapist both told me that what was left over was loose skin and I was quite lean already, I took the fat off too fast in the beginning. My doctor suggested to start lifting weights to work the upper body to help in pulling the skin up. I have for the last month gained back 25 lbs., I believe it to be muscle as I am lifting heavier weights. I still do HIIT cardio on the treadmill once a week. I also do various core exercises for abdominal definition.
Not sure if this is the right area to post this as it seems to be related to weight loss but also to weight training. It feels like loose sking in some areas, but not in the love handle area, yet my doctor still tells me that it is loose skin and to be patient and it will come down.
My diet is low fat with exception to the EFAs, carbs during the day and protein throughout and heavier in the evening and dinner, I workout before dinner.
Any advice or individuals experience this and got through it, please post your ideas.
Thanks!!!!
