Hi i'm new to this place, So from ages 9-12 i was really chubby. But when i turned 13 i started to loose all of it, and grew a lot taller (currently 5'10, and 158 lbs) i feel like skinny but also a little bit chubby, cause like i have mild gyno, which is normal cause i'm 15, and other than that i'm skinny. But i have this little belly on my lower abdomen and i can't figure out if its loose skin or a little bit of fat, my mom says its loose skin and to do abs and push ups every day (which i do) but it still isn't going away. this is really bothering me and its prevented me from going to the beach for a while, and summer is coming up and i don't want to miss out this time (i live in San Diego...) so can anybody tell me what it is and what i need to do? i will post some pictures.

Heya dude, im guessing you want ripped abs right? Best way to do that is lower the body fat. You can work out till kingdom come, and still have no abs , but without the fat loss so you can remove the layer of fat covering them you get nothing.
Its not loose skin, however its not really a major either :) Go down the gym and hook up with a trainer, they will no doubt take you through a body building phase to build muscle, and then move to the fat reduction (if you need it by the end still).

If you do it now whilst you are young, your body will look buff when you're older because it molds the general shape of it, better yet, you will be rolling in hot chicks :D

Thanks man :) I'm gonna start lifting ASAP... One question, My dad is in the Navy, So I have access to the free gym on base, would the trainers there be as good as 24-hour? And do you have any suggestions on what i should start with?

There's a thread in the exercise area called The Conceptual Side of Weight Lifting. Read it! :)

Also what I see ther is belly fat. Keep in mind that at your age, you're likely to have some residual "baby fat" and you might not be able to (and probably shouldn't) slim down to a "ripped abs" state at this point. You need to make sure you're eating healthily and not overdoing the "diet" thing.

Oh, Okay, Sweet :) I must have gotten the wrong idea, but thats good news haha :) Cause I was kind of bummed when i saw the reply... But this made up for it :D

I think you need to pay attention to the diet. That fat in the belly needs to get drawn out by a calorie deficit. Meaning eating less calories than you need. Post how many calories you are eating per day and the number of fat calories in there.

Honestly you look great and I bet there are kids in your class that don't look nearly as good - I really wouldn't let that stop you from going to the beach!! Trust me no one would point and laugh or talk about it even - maybe just to say that "hey he looks good"!

I agree with the general consensus that you should hit the weights! It looks like your body fat percentage is still fairly high even though you're at a normal weight. Start building some muscle and the lean body mass and fat ratios will change for the better over time. :)

You're young--I bet the trainers at a Navy gym would get you in shape in no time! Being male and teenaged, you should be able to reach your goal long before summer. Just through regular hormonal changes at your age, plus strength training and good eating plan, you should find it easy to gain muscle mass & lose the little fat you do have. Start on it now, keep the health & fitness habit for a lifetime! Good luck!
