Looking to get healthy

Howdy everyone,

I'm a 24 year old graduate student who as of late have been feeling a little worn down and out of shape. I'm 5'9 and sitting around 170lbs, but I feel my body fat percentage is too high. I want to get into better shape to improve my everyday life. I spend a fair amount of time at a computer while at work so I figured if I found a forum to talk about fitness it would improve my motivation to succeed. I must say so far people have been helpful and I am glad to be here.

As of now I'm in a research phase of planning a proper workout schedule. Any help with this would be great.

I have access to a full gym and at home I have a bench press, dumbells 5-20lbs, and some tension bands. I'm trying to figure out how best to use all of this.

As of now I think this is what I have planned for my cardio:

Running (this is my least favorite to do)
Rowing machine (I enjoy this)
Rollerblading (most enjoyable)

As far a muscles go, I'm still completely lost when I go to the gym as to what I should be doing.

Well thank you everyone for reading and thanks to anyone kind enough to post suggestions. have a great day all.

Check out this website for ideas on different exercises you could do (don't be put off by the big scary man ... or the woman!)

Bodybuilding.com - #1 Exercises Guide - Over 300 Exercises!

I would look at working on Triceps, Biceps, Pecs, Deltoids, Quads and Abs. You'll find a whole host of exercises for each of these on there.

And I have no idea how you find rowing more enjoyable than running. I hate it, but still do a session each time I'm at the gym as it's a good overall workout.
