Looking for some thigh advice..

Hi there.. I'm new to the forums. I've never been much into exercise or diet before but I'd like to start and get more into shape! But I'll need some advice ^^

I've had a problem with my thighs for a really long time, I think that they're too thin and it doesn't look very healthy, my knees kind of stick out. I've always been naturally thin even though I eat like a cow. But I'm hoping some form of exercise will help me to look "fit" thin and not "sick" thin if you know what I mean..

I've attached some pictures of my legs to give a better idea of what I have to work with here (sorry they are poor quality..) Are there any specific exercise I can do that will give my thighs a little more body? (without being like a huge bulging muscle, lol)

Legs

Try a spinning class. Really targets weak areas of your legs while giving you the max cardio workout. Squats, lunges, dead lifts and this type of weight training are excellent but work on correct form and technique before adding weight. The combination of these different routines should give you the well rounded strong legs your looking for. I thought your pictures were well done.

As World B said, hit the squats, lunges and dead lifts. Your not going to put on that much muscle unless you go crazy, just be consistent, and change your plan every 6 weeks or so.

yeah, adding some muscle will help the looks! Squats, deadlifts, lunges, like the others have recommended! Also, if you want to add some muscle, you probably need to add som weight, at least in the long run, this means that you have to eat more (so that you end up in a calorie surplus) just don't eat too much over maintenance since you'll just end up gaining too much fat.

Women Don't Want Bulging Muscles

This comment amuses me. I say that sarcastiically because there is an immediate assumption on your behalf that building the kind of muscle that bulges is a simple task. Simple it may be but it takes an incredible amount of effort over a long time to make muscles "bulge".

For women the effort to produce the same results as a man is probably twice as much. Women don't have the testosterone in amounts that automatically build muscle in a way that it pops out. The "bulgers" work incredibly hard for long periods of time to become "bulgers". Most, perhaps two-thirds of males don't make it, let alone the women who have a harder time of it.

You're not going to build "bulging muscle" for a few years dear so take some advice & do some real exercise, work hard for a few months & watch your body change. What happens is amazing & amazingly slow but enchanting as well. If you have what it takes to convert all that shapelessness into "bulging muscle", which I doubt, I believe you will change your mind about it. No, you'll never want to be really "big", most people don't but when you see what you have to do to make your body change, there comes a pride & almost an addiction to making things look the way you want them too.

A Starter
Squats at a medium weight, 10 reps, 3 sets
Leg presses at a medium weight, 10 reps, 3 sets
Leg curls at a medium weight, 10 reps, 3 sets
Lunge walk for 30 steps

See how you go doing this at least twice a week, then when it becomes "easy", up the weight &/or the reps. More reps, lower weight, more tone, less "bulging muscles"

Thank you very much for the advice guys!

@WorldB.. What is a spinning class? English is not my native language and I haven't heard of this term before.

And @ Alfielee.. I apologize, I may have used the wrong term when I said "bulging".. But I know very little about building muscle. I only meant that my end-goal is very subtle.
