looking for some good advice.

Im age 21 and 11 weeks ago i was 21 stone 7 pounds, now im 18 stone 10 pounds. I live in the country side and luckily there is a 4 and a half mile ring nearby, ive built up from huffing and puffing after one mile to walking the ring everyday and now i can walk it comfortably in 1 hour 3 minutes (4 hills) so today i decided to kick it up a notch and start doing some skipping and running ( i hope to be jogging the ring in 3 more months :D )

so these are my questions
1. how many skips should I do and how often should I increase the number. I did 3 sets of 100 today and i was dripping sweat and gasping for breath.

2. Im still pretty heavy and im cautious about running so much that i wear out my joints and have to start taking glucouzamine tablets ( is that how you spell it?) so any advice on distance would be much appreciated.

and generally any good tips would be welcome.

P.S I dont believe in fancy diets and gizmos. Im just looking for ways to pump sweat hard and fast.

thanks for any help.

Bit confused: your worried about your joints but you skipped 300? is this the same skipping I am thinking about ? (bit of rope, swing around yourself and jump over it?) got to be the highest impact I can think of!

Maybe if your concerned about your joints (because of your weight?) a good rule of thumb is to only stick to machines where your feet never leave the floor. Elliptical machine, bike/spinning, rowing? also swimming can be good but you really gotta swim fast to get the cardio benefit, front crawl all the way.

I have had issues with my joints in the past and found through trial and error that Omega 3+6 oils made a huge difference- to the point where I get back pain when I don't take them every time I stop- it took me a while to work out it was the lack of the oils which was doing this. However you have to look for the good quality stuff as the cheapo/bad quality stuff just doesn't cut it.

Pumping sweat normally means movng as fast as you can or with as much resistance as you can when you exercise. Be careful to look after your muscles as well as your joings by being properly hydrated, eating good portions of macro nutrients each meal and if your working out for any thing more then 10-20 mins, stretch out your muscles afterwards!- I learnt this the hard way, unstretched muscles hurt like hell!

thanks for the advice. what are macro nutrients? I mostly eat fish now, black sole, slamon, smoked haddock and troat I usually have fillet steak and chicken once a week as well and I have smocked salmon if I get up early enough to need to eat lunch, I have either porridge of eggs for breakfast.

I wouldnt say im worried about my joints as such, just more cautious of doing damage to them than anything else.. I hate the thought of being dependent any form of medication/supplement etc.
