the only problem with detoxes is that some people think that its a sustainable diet....which can be very dangerous
dboz, can you show us some research on the effects of detox on fat release? That would interesting to look into if true.
Articles (read: Fat as Protection from Toxins)
There is a lot of evidence that suggests that it makes it easier for you body to release the fat once your body is free of toxins.
The fact is I have helped hundreds of people lose a total of thousands of pounds and keep it off.

Ive heard that a good detox can really help that.... any suggestions
There no diet you can do that will help you detox something out of your system, the idea of detoxing is complete bunk, there is no scientific merit to anything like this. It's the function of things like the liver and the Kidneys to clean toxins out of your body, they do not work harder under different diets.

Yes the depo does make you hungrier and thats why i gained most of the weight i did however the drug itself was the problem. before i started the drug i could loose weight i put on very easily and now it doesnt matter how many hours a week i work out and do cardio i havent lost one pound in three weeks and i am watching what i eat.
People do care, the problem is that supporting someone blindly by agreeing with bad ideas is not actually going to help anyone, what people need is sound advice first and foremost.
Working out (weights and tension training) will cause almost no weight loss, Cardio can help but you need to do some SERIOUSLY intense cardio to lose anything significant, you need to educate yourself about the specifics of exercise and weightloss, if you plan to exercise yourself thin then you have a very hard job ahead of you.
For example running a mile will only lose you approximately 100 calories, so you'd need to run about 35 miles to burn off enough calories to lose 1lb, that's assuming you're only eating your maintenance calories for the day, if you're over eating then you'd need to run a lot more.
Purely in my own experience the people who tell me vague things like "I run every week" and "I watch what I eat" are not actually doing a very good job of measuring either of those things and unless you know accurately calories in/out then you will never know why you're not losing weight.
Do yourself a favour, work out what your maintenance calories are per day, work out what your diet is roughly per day calorie wise and tell us how many calories you're burning when exercising you can find graphs/calculators/converters online that will tell you all them things, I bet you're like every other human on earth and that equation balances and the problem is that your perception of what those values are is actually the biggest part of the problem.

A chemical that causes hunger is only responsible for causing hunger, it's up to the person taking the injections to regulate their own weight by eating an appropriate amount of calories. Calories are still calories, that never changes, if you eat too many you'll gain weight. As others have said the metabolism changes are fairly minor.
Lastly be careful about the claims of people like dboz, just because something like detox is part of their routine and the routine is working doesn't mean that detox is actually does anything of any value. With weightloss the key is to finding reliable information, that means finding information backed by either reputable doctors or the scientific research which means published papers. There's nothing like that for detoxing, the whole thing is like homeopathy and other alternative treatments.
You'll notice he can't provide good sources to back his claims, which other forum members point out in posts before mine, all he has is anecdotal personal experience, not a verified research that stands up to scrutiny.
Sorry for the long winded post I hope at least some of it helps.

So if you dont feel like nutritional cleansing works for you then you keep doing what you do and Ill keep doing what I do and that is producing results. You cant argue with results, whether you believe in the process or not
