Looking at Bowflex...any comments?

I am thinking of purchasing a Bowflex, possibly the Xtreme2 or the Ultimate. The problem is that I have never tried one and I cannot find one to try in this area. I know they have a money back guarantee, but that does not include shipping costs in both directions.

My wife and I will both use the machine.

Does anyone have any experience with these machines that might help me decide? Are there other machines that would be better?

Space is an issue also.

Thanks in advance for any information.

Bowflex Answer

Bayou,

I have owned a Bowflex for four years now, and I have only one word to describe its worth--AMAZING!!! My boyfriend and I both use it and saw unbelieveable results. I did not believe the informercial could be acurate, but they are. I went from a size 12 to a 6 in 8 weeks!!! 3x/ week for 30 minutes. All I can do now is regret wasting my time and money at the gym for so long!!! Good Luck, Oh and all we bought was the power pro (no bells and whistles).

Yea Bowflex is pretty useful i have seen my cousin use it. Went from a weakling to a muscle man o_O (i can still take him out XD) but ya i believe that the Bowflex is really worth it. Im about to get my own soon

I have two friends of mine that both own a bowflex and they both love it. I really wanted one, but didn't like the price so I bought the Weider Crossbow instead. I have had for two years and has helped me lose 50 lbs.

Anyway, I am sure if you purchase you will enjoy it.

I have watched the paid programings on tv and they seem to catch my eye. But I was wondering, my father is thinking about getting it and well is Bowflex appropriate for a 16 year old. I just turned 16 a while ago and I wanted to know if using machines like that, is it good or bad for me?

Some of the bowflex advertisements actually specifically suggest it for teenage boys who are into sports.. so yes I guess it is good for you.

My husband and I used it for four weeks, and the results were immediate. My stomach was flatter and my arms and thighs were cut. We worked out four days a week.

I need to get back on the workout. The bowflex has collected dust and needless to say, I am out of shape again.

i actually dont like the bowflex. i have one and i dont seem to get sore from it anymore. the resistance is pissing me off. i wish i had bought an olympic sized work out thing with the bar and weights.

I've decided to order the Ultimate 2 in a month or two. I've gotta pay down my Christmas credit bills first though. My question is the website says it needs a 7'x6' area, how accurate is that? I'm going to be putting this in my room and space is an issue, at most I'll have an 8'x6' area for it. Is that going to be enough?
