A year ago I went to the doctor and got on the scale and I weighed 250. I am 5"6 and 36 year old female. I was mortified. Five years ago I weighed 155 and I had been close to that weight from 15-30. I tried for the last five years to lose weight and it was the usual yo yo dieting. I just couldn't get rid of the weight. In February this year I joined the gym and went for an hour every day doing cardio and weights. I did not lose a pound for 6 months. Talk about being frustrated!!! I went to my hairdresser and we were talking about low thyroid (I don't even have a thyroid) and she said that she heard to take Icelandic Kelp and she did and lost 7 pounds and had more energy. I bought it and took two every morning and in 2 weeks I had lost 5 pounds. Finally, something was happening. Well from there I changed my eating habits and started eating lots of salad, brown rice and fish and chicken. I got home late from work and realized that I always went to bed on a full stomach so I quit eating at night when I got home. I ate my big meal at lunch. Plus, I started drinking 30-60oz of water a day. That was the hardest part I think!!! I also walk 1 mile every day. Anyways, to get to my point. I weighed in this morning at 204. I was so excited :hurray: 6 months ago 200 pounds seemed impossible, totally impossible,l but now this morning, I am so close I mean I am going to do it and it is going to be soon and that feel so darn good. So I wanted to share this with you so for you that feel stuck or feel that you'll never get there, just keep up with what you are doing and you can do it. It is hard work but it is worth it. I have 45 pounds to go and I am determined to get it off by the end of 2008. I joined Weight Watchers at work 5 weeks ago to learn better eating habits and to be a part of a group and I've been losing 2 pounds a week since I joined. It is the most easy diet I've ever been on and I love it plus I am learning really good eating habits. So, hopefully I will be emailing again in a few months when I reach my 175 goal!!!! Good luck to all of you. If I can do it then I know that you can too!!!!
