Living for my wife and children.

Hello everyone.. My name is Dave, I'm a 33 year old father of four and husband. I work for a local Honda dealer inside the parts depth. I was born with congenital heart disease.

Back in 2010 (new years or 2009/2010), i weighed 185lbs . I felt horrible and looked bad (myself). I decided it was time to take charge. I got a membership to a gym and began to portion control and change the way I eat. By summer of 2010 I was at 150lbs. I felt and looked great. Few months later I got divorced and met a wonderful woman who I am happy to call my wife. I stopped going to the gym. I began to get comfortable and have since again got back up to my dreaded 185lbs. Needless to say my life is going fantastic all except for my desire to relax to much and eat to much. I have.decided to change for the better. I'm going to go back to eating better and more portion controlled meals and pick up my physical activity.
Started last night. I spent an hour and a half on my Xbox kinect getting sweaty and burning calories... I felt great after my shower.. This may have been the best I have felt in a year.

Anyways I will update later.. back to work.

Welcome to the forum! You'll find a lot of great advice and support here. :)

It's pretty amazing how a good workout can make you feel afterwards isn't it? Are you trying to get back down to 150lb again or do you have a different goal this time?

My goal is to get down to a healthy weight. 150 would be nice but im not going to make myself crazy over it.

Add to the daily diary :
Breakfast was 2 boiled eggs, 1 banana, 4oz of milk and my two vitamins
Mid morning snack was 10 cubes of ceddar cheese
Lunch was chicken breast and rice
Mid day snack was 2 Clementines
Dinner was chicken breast, rice and some peaches

I have successfully drank 125oz of water today.

Thank you thank you!!! Its tough at night with the cravings. So i resorted to another 32oz cup of water..

Earlier I did an hour of kinect and some situps and pushups.

Yesterday I had an "off day" from exercise. I ate pretty decent but i did indulge in a bag of kettle corn popcorn. Ugh!!!

I think I need to spice up my routine i need to get a real workout schedule down and hit it..
I'm pondering if I should stick to what I'm doing for this week or start the new amped up workout today..

Hello Dave!:waving: Good Luck with your weight loss and don't stress ! :)
Have a look at Zeus Workouts on youtube. It helped me to get ideas on what to include in my workouts. I only do a few of the things in there though. :)

Hello everyone. Been a solid 10 days since I have been on. I had lost 10lbs in 2 weeks... My next weigh in is Friday.

New for me. I purchased The Biggest Loser for my xbox360 kinect. I started my workout on there Sunday and I feel great... Still sticking to a very clean and healthy diet.
If everything goes well ill be in the 160's as of Friday..

I looked at some reviews and found some people said it's better for people more overweight than I am. Kinda eases into exercises that people like me (with about 30 lbs to lose) should have no issues doing. Going to look into some of the exercises it actually does, but leaning towards a dancing game that can be fun and get my heart rate up, but also maybe something like Your Shape, or perhaps stick with my Wii Fit for now. I do like the balancing stuff on it because my balance SUCKS. And the boxing is good.

I also play kinect adventures and that has a nice amount of activity games that get your whole body moving. I break a sweat easily in that too.

I have a bad heart and 1 fused lung so for me i know I tired and get worn out quicker, my wife on the other hand use to be a rower back in H.S. and college (only a few years back) and she gets a great workout with the biggest loser as well.

You can adjust the intensity and the duration. I think it would work well for anyone looking to lose pounds.

Well I weighed in today, a week from last... gained 2 lbs.. so frustrating since I did good thia week eating the right things and working out.. I just dont get it. UGH!!!!

Hey Dave, welcome to the forum and congratulations on that first 10 pounds...don't be too frustrated at the 2 pound gain...the big loss in 2 weeks was a lot of water and with all the exercising you are doing, you are likely putting on a little muscle mass...and that's a good thing...it burns more calories than your fat does!
Just keep making the good choices and remember it 's a journey, not a race. If you are like most of us, you want to lose it and keep it off...well, those who lose fast by whatever means, Normally end up putting it back on...those who lose slowly generally keep it off! Slow but sure my friend!
I do not wish you luck..for me, it's not about luck, it's about making good choices! So I wish you good choices my friend!

Well I fell off the wagon... Friday my inlaws showed up to stay the night with us.
Since then I have eaten way to much junk (pizza, ice cream, hotdogs etc) i also stopped working out. (I did take a 5 mile bike ride on Sunday).

I gotta get back on the wagon. I gotta kick back in and work my ass off.

I need some help to make better food choices.
