Yup, I know I screwed up big time Friday night, and I know it was about as empty as calories can get. I'm still on the right track, I derailed, I'm gonna keep going though! AND Doritos aren't a recurring theme, they stay out of the house, and I rarely get them with a meal.
Q, you're right that those are contributors to HB, but I can go a while without any of the above (or V8, or bagels, or any of a variety of other contributors) and still get it.
Anyway, I know I made a bad decision, not looking for absolution, just had to confess it.
I've reached a little more clarity on my "path", and I think I started really thinking about it after it posting here or on Oaks' thread, I'm going to drop one bad habit at a time, in slower increments. Get used to the new way. Beginning of October, I stopped fast food entirely. I'm doing the no-dessert-after-dinner thing now. Are both of those 100%? No, especially the latter.
I know full well that I'm going to have dessert, and if I have the calorie budget, then why not? But I want to be smart about it, instead of ice cream maybe I have a couple "fun size" Hershey darks, something along those lines. And, more importantly, not have it out of habit, but instead because I really crave it. Same with fast food - sometimes it's the best option (e.g. if we're long-hauling it and just need to have a pee-and-eat stop) - but I can't let it become a habit anymore.
Next to go: diet soda. I usually like to have a Coke Zero or a Diet Dr Pepper with lunch during the week, and it should be easy enough to cut out. Next Monday - back on the water train, or lukewarm-tea.
