Im doing a bit of strength training and after reading this site I tried to do a chin up myself, I probly moved about an inch, if that![]()

You are stronger in the downward portion of a chin or pull-up than you are in the upward portion.
That said, I recommend working on the downward portion, which will build strength, allowing you eventually to start adding some full reps into the set.
Or, if you belong to a gym, simply use a cable pulldown machine.

I do belong to a gym, thats where Ive been doing the strength work usually about twice a week. They have a cable machine which we do use (I go with my boyfriend) I havnt been doing it for very long so Im probably not very strong yet.
Maybe il get my boyfriend to lift me up so I can practice the downward part![]()
