License Weight Vs. Reality

I can't believe there are actually places that put weight on your license, that's so weird!

Kinda reminds me of my first passport which I got when I was a few months old and still used when I was ten. Yep, it saying my height was 80 something cm was so relevant? Plus like most babies, my eye colour changed so that made the passport seem even more ridiculous

Well, there are a lot of people up to no good in Cali. And the weight is for identifying people in certin circumstances. Plus, there is a problem with people of African American descent being blamed for crime for whatever reason, and weight can be a pointer to alleviate guilt from an innocent party when the term "black male" is used (or at least, I think that can help.) For example, if police are given the description of a black man as a suspect, height and weight can help identify the suspect--it's a big problem, racism, in this country, and with weight on a CDL a person questioned can be like, "Look, I'm 160 lbs--isn't your suspect considered 'heavyset'?" And in all other circumstances, too. There's a lot going on out here, trust me. I bemoan the fact that I can't safely roam anywhere I want in my favorite city, Oakland, because of territorial reasons. I wish I could because I love all aspects of culture (being trained in cultural anthropology) but I have to respect locals' way of differentiating outsider and insider.

Either way, coming from a very populated state, it is difficult ot believe that weight is NOT on a Driver's License. Starting this thread has taught me a lot!

Current Weight: 188
License Weight: 175 from when I was 16

Hopefully I can shave it down to below 175 when I renew in August.

First real licsense, I was really 265 and I told them I was 230. Now im 6'1, 215 and its almost time for a new liscense, i'll definitally post up the new one when I get it.

Good idea!! Wow you don't look 265 lbs--for me, I gain a bunch of weight in my face :p Cool thing: I've lost a bunch of weight in my face!! I don't feel like a chubby bunny anymore. Hey that's a great idea--when I finally reach my goal and when I go get a new license, I'll proudly post it in this thread!!! YAY! I'm looking forward to it:D

I live in Maine and they do require a weight on the licenses as well. It's a 6 year license, and I said 205, when I was probably about 260!! I couldn't bear to have that on my liscence. Self-denial and humiliation, I suppose.

I'm STILL not 205! But, when I renew in August of '08, I certainly hope I am well below that.

I see CurvyGirlie's reasoning of why states want that info, but at the same time it seems weird to have information on there that can change by a lot.

And passports don't have weight on them, either. I wonder if the US ever has a National ID card if weight will or will not be on them.

So what my license would really look like

OK so here's me in my license picture at 160 lbs or so:

And here's me at 140 lbs, how I would really look, but a few years later.

Hmmm, I think I might be cheating--looks like I sucked in my cheeks a little. Well you get the point--no more chipmunk face. ;) ;)
