Leverage Squat

first off the bat new member first post.

Now that i got that out of the way just wondering on the opinions of some members on the effectiveness of leverage squats with foot pad at a 20 degree angle. I'm interested in adding one at home because never have someone around to spot. Feel free to throw out some personal experiences back at me about if this is a serious piece of equipment.

Don't use equipment for squats. Do regular free weight squats. Since your talking about leverage keep your hips back when doing squats like your about to sit in a chair and keep the weight on the heels of the foot.

Machines are so limiting...

with free weights you have all kinds of better options open to you...standard squats, hack squats, front squats, bulgarian splits, step ups, lunges, etc. As long as you are practicing proper form, free weight leg excercises will give you faster gains, and work more muscles. If you are going to add a piece of equipment, make it something that should be in every gym... a power rack.

Don't forget those calves!

well then I'm probably just going to take a couple saw horses outside w/ a bar n make my own squat rack. thanks for the responses

or if you have to, do very heavy dumbbell squats so you don't have to worry about getting trapped under a barbell.
