Heres something I think is REALLY important. Having foods available that are not only low in calories, but high quality and taste good. Who can honestly keep up on a diet of bad taste? Heres some categories and products I've found to be good, and anyone who cares to please follow with yours:

Vegetables: Green Giant frozen vegetables, with sauces, I would have to use a stick of butter to make veggies taste this good!

Soups: Campbells Select & Progresso. Sure, Healthy Choice soups are healthy, but they taste horrible!

Prepackaged foods: I really try to avoid them, but the south beach diet meals will taste just as good as any freezer meal and be much healthier.

Beverages: Hawaiian Punch Light (10 cal), Tropicana Twister Light (50 cal), and Gatorade Rain (50 cal) I personally do not like artificial sweeteners, and these products do a great job of blending natural with synthetic for an overall good taste. The gatorade rain does not contain any synthetic sweeteners, and is a real treat!

Beer: Bud Light Ice, 5.5% alc and 110 cal.

Seasonings/flavorings: Ms Dash salt free Grilling Blends. They are meat specific and great for quick cooking. KC masterpiece has a garlic & herb marinade that is not only great on meats but even better on vegetables. Gotta squeeze em down however you can!

So this is what I've found so far in my first 10 days of healthy eating. I would like everyone to post other things so we all know where to look when we goto the supermarket, instead of the fast food joint, pizza parlor, restaurant, grill, chinese..................................

Great thread!

Healthy choice frozen meals - oriental style chicken and sesame chicken. They taste good. Sweet and sour chicken is ok too.

I buy frozen mixed veggies in the supermarket and prepare them that way: put in the skillet, use a bit of crushed red pepper, minced dried onions, garlic powder, some italian spices and 2 table spoons of soy sauce. If you run out of water, add some as you cook. They end up having great flavor!

Cereals - instant flavored oatmeal, oat bran, Kashi Go Lean and Fiber One.

Desserts - Instant Jello sugar free/fat free chocolate pudding with a sliver of whipped cream on top. Great substitute for ice-cream and totally helps with those chocolate cravings. Make it with 1% or skim milk.

Those are just some of my favorites...

Forgot to mention fajita wraps! Lean chicken breast, cut into small pieces and cooked with Fajita seasonings. 1 medium soft taco, cut up tomato, 1 teaspoon guacamole, 1 teaspoon fat free sour cream, 2 TB of salsa, and 1-2 TB of shredded mexican cheese - 350 calories, very tasty and satisfying. The best thing other then cooking chicken it takes like 10 minutes to make!

i use that "i cant believe its not butter" spray on my veggies and they taste pretty good that way!

i like the south beach diet wraps too once in a while but they are loaded with sodium. i looked at the label on one of them and it had over 1,000 mg!

Not only that but they are kind of a rip off, $3 buys 12oz to a pound of lean lunch meat, another $3 buys a package or two of whole wheat wrap tortillas.

Manufacturers tend to put too much salt in many products, which I think is totally unnecessary! Like soups for instance... Some of them are loaded with sodium! And it really does not add to taste. If I wanted something really salty, I can always add salt to it, right?
