Hi my name is Don and I've been a lurker for some time here but I think keeping a diary will hold me accountable as I progress toward my goal. Over the last couple of years I've put in mad work to get to where I am. It's been a slow but beneficial process for me. It started after my Dad passed (heart problems) and I was put on HBP and Cholesterol medication. Both events gave me a new perspective on life and that's when I realized I had to do something. At my highest weight I was around 319 (maybe more). I mainly exercised, walking, riding my bike to work etc. I lost probably about 30 pounds but my progress would stall quite a bit. Not until around the beginning of last year I actually started watching what I ate and the pounds started to come off. I'm currently at 229 hoping to lose 24 more thus why I started this diary. I recently had a conversation with my sister who is progressing through her own transformation and she told me that I was an inspiration to her for what I've done so far. I was so proud of myself when she told me that, I felt bad ass! It made me want to work that much harder. With that said I also hope to inspire more people as many, many of you on this forum do for me.

Let's get it!

You look great! Amazing transformation. That's a lot of weight you've lost, a lot of effort you've invested, and a lot of success that you've found.

Inspirational is right.

Thank you for the kind words.

Today we were snowed in so no work for me. Usually that would be no bueno but I had my meals planned out for the day.

Back to work tomorrow though and back to the grind. Getting back in the gym and will be working arms, and back tomorrow!

I'm the complete opposite... I have a day off and I'm done for... I just eat and eat and eat! uggh.
Congrats, by the way. You look amazing! :)

It's Monday. First, Happy Valentines Day to all of you!
It was a good weekend. Other than a few minor hiccups food wise I did well this past weekend. Made it to the Gym on Saturday and Sunday and worked hard.

Today I'm switching it up though. I'm going off my workout routine. Instead of working legs at the gym today I plan to do a session of P90x for the first time.

If you don't hear from me in the next couple of days, call the paramedics!!

Survived the p90X session. It was the DVD specific to the core. Core Synergy or something like that. I'm not going to lie, it was a BEAST and I was unable to complete every exercise but hopefully, eventually I will. It kept the heart rate up that's for sure. I was drenched when I finished.

My food intake was decent yesterday too
B- Greek Yogurt
S- Baby Carrots and Peanut Butter
L- Tuna salad and wheat thins
S- Apple and peanut butter
D- 1.5 servings of Homemade Spaghetti and Meatballs (I used the Healthy Harvest Whole Wheat Noodles)
In addition I drank 3 to 4 liters of water.

Let's get it!

Wednesday's are my new rest day. It used to be Sunday's. I changed it because I have much more discipline eating wise on Wednesday's than I do on Sunday's. Anyways I let the body rest up a little and ate well all day.

B- Greek Yogurt and a slice of toast
S- Baby Carrots and Peanut Butter
L- Chicken salad and wheat thins
S- Apple and peanut butter
S- Half of a Naval Orange
D- 10 oz Grilled pork tenderloin with steamed broccoli and cauliflower

In addition I consumed 4 liters of water.

Let's get it today!

Wow! What a fantastic accomplishment already! You look great- and I have to echo what your sister said- you are an inspiration :)

I'm glad you started a diary. It's nice to hear about how people are getting through their own weight loss!

I have tried the core P90X tape...tried is the main word there...I think I gave up half way through!! hehe! That stuff is hard! Good on ya for trying it though- and I love the 'I'm gunna get this' attitude that you have!!

Hope to catch more of your posts! You're doing great! Keep us updated :)

The weekend was great. I attended a Graduate School fair out of town on Saturday and I managed to get a back/ab workout in once I returned home later that evening. Sunday was nice as well. I got a serious cardio session in around lunch time and some needed grocery shopping after-wards. With a good night's rest last night I feel ready to take on the new week and do the work to help me reach my ultimate goal.

Here's to the new week! Let's get it

Yesterday went well. Worked legs for about an hour and sprinkled in a little cardio while doing them. They are definitely sore today.

S - 1 Green Apple and Tbsp of Peanut Butter
L - A cup of Tuna Salad w/ Wheat Thins
S - Baby Carrots and Tbsp of Peanut Butter
S - 1 Orange

Today I've pretty much stuck to the Diet above as well. I’m not sure what to do for dinner. Any suggestions?
Workout Wise – Today I’ve done the CoreSynergy P90x disc and I will be working out at the gym with my buddies after work. Specifically Chest and Shoulders!
Let’s Get it!

I'm back after a small hiatus. All things are still well. I haven't missed a planned workout. On the other hand late night food over the weekends especially after a night out have slowed my desired progress. I guess I could stop going out on the weekends but what fun is that right? Does anyone have any tricks or ideas on how to avoid the weekend setbacks?

Anyways this is the beginning of a new month. My plan is to try to do better week by week and see what happens. I am going on a cruise at the end of May so hopefully i am near or reach my goal by then. It's going to be tough but I will give it my best.

Let's get it!

My new news, I adopted a dog over the weekend from 2nd Chance. She's a 5 month old lab - Shar pei mix who was way too cute to pass up. I saw her in the cage and I couldn't resist. I've named her Sophia after the Actress that plays Gloria on "Modern Family".
So with the new edition comes new responsibilities. I've never owned a pet before so this is all new to me. So that's about it. I hope every ones training is going well. Here's Sophia!

Sophia is friggin adorable! I bet she'll be a fun pet to have.

Love the pic, lookin' good :) Keep it up! I'm so jealous how close you are to your goal, lolll.

Sophia is awesome. Great puppy so far!
Thanks for the compliment. You will definitely get to your goal as well. All you can do is your best every day.

I finally got under 220 a week or so ago. I knew it was coming sooner or later because my new jeans were looser than when I bought them. (And after washing them)

My routine hasn't changed much since the last update. I don't eat as much greek yogurt in the morning as I used to. My meals lately are as such

B: Bowl of Total Cereal with 1% milk, add either berries or banana. (I'm digging the banana in it because it really gives me that full feeling) A couple of tablespoons of Greek Yogurt.
Sn 1: Apple and Scoop of Peanut Butter
L: 8" Italian sub sandwich with spicy mustard (With a glass of milk)
Sn 2: Orange and Scoop of Peanut Butter
D: Grilled Pork Steak with Green Beans (Leftovers) (With a glass or two of milk)

Other than that you guys are up to date. Keep Bringing it! Let's get it!

New Update: I'm still working, staying on the grind trying to reach my goal weight. I'm finally getting close. Feeling pretty good about it. Also I am officially going on a 5 day Mexico cruise through Carnival. Should be a nice vacay for a hectic semester of work.

Here are some update pics of Sophia as well. One is right before her first bath, the other is at a picnic my office held for our students this past Sunday. Anyways, I hope everybody is still working hard and getting closer to their goals!

Let's get it!
