Let me introduce myself

Hi, my name is Kat. I am new to the forums, but not so new to fitness. I have been athletic my whole life, playing soccer from the time I was in elementary school through college and still currently playing at age 26. I used to be a fairly avid runner and got into some weight training. My husband is in the military and we are stationed in Georgia.

Since getting married, both of us have put on some weight, not a lot, but enough to encourage us to want to make a change. He works really long hours as a Drill Sgt. and instead of being able to do the PT himself, he is stuck giving instruction and not getting in his own work out. I have picked up a kickboxing program at a local martial arts facility and we also bought the Insanity Workout DVD system. I'd like to get back into running again, but I am coming off a pretty bad ankle sprain from this summer and the impact is a little too much for any kind of substantial distance.

I have joined this forum for advice and tips and encouragement to keep me going. I have also joined for some advice and tips on the use of protein meal replacement shakes and how to incorporate those into our diet for weight loss. I have been a member of several different forums for other subjects and have found the information there to be very helpful/useful. Looking forward to reading posts and hearing from the other members of this community.

Kat
