Hi,

I'm new here and stumbled across this site in search for some support that I didn't have to pay for. This looks like a great place and is certainly going to help keep me on track.

I was never overweight until I had my first child and then it was all downhill from there, I managed to lose half of the weight I gained with her but then promptly got pregnant again when she was 9months old. My youngest is now 2 years old and I still have a good 10kg to lose (22lbs), if not more, I will re-evaluate when I get there and see how I feel and look ;)

I have been exercising for months and have always been a sporty type, but managed to gain 10lb even when jogging everyday...that was a real kick in the pants telling me my diet was out of whack! My husband and I had got into the habit of having desserts at night, there in lies my main problem, that and the snacking between meals. So I have commited to a lifestyle change, not calorie counting but just making sure what I eat is the right choice, making sure I eat regularly (4 - 5) sensible meals a day, weight training, and exercising aerobically at least 5 days a week, either by jogging or interval training on my stepper and skipping. Also making sure my water intake is where it should be. I have managed to get quite fit, my resting pulse is 56 bpm, now it is just the food to conquer!

I have had to admit that I am a compulsive eater and once I start I find it hard to stop.

I am at day 10 in my 'change' and after the first week managed to lose 5.5lbs.

So far so good, and what is even better is the fact that my husband has decided to make some changes too, so that makes the journey a lot easier!

Hopefully this diary is somewhere where I can ramble a little, I already write down everything I eat, but need somewhere like this where I can come to accept and understand some of the bad habits I have managed to form.

My big realization in this last week has been that I will often go out to get takeaway because it is a trip out in the car and keeps my family amused...that is sad. I work fulltime as a teacher of 5 year olds so don't have a lot of time, but do find my habits are often worse at work, so will have to keep an eye on that.:p

Went for a jog for 20 minutes today, but this included a lot of hills and I really pushed myself so feel good about that.

First day back at school today after a week of holidays, this will be the test...can I keep my willpower around others when they are eating???

Wish me luck!

Well had a good first day, did not give into temptation (cheese and crackers) at morning tea. Instead I had a special k cereal bar, much better snack choice! Had a salad sandwich, low fat yoghurt and 2 pears for lunch, so far so good!:p :p

Sounds like your off to a really great start! This is a great place to be, thats for sure. Theres tons of great info on this site, and everyone is awesome for support. Lookin forward to tracking your progress!

Well great day today....went for a jog this morning and really suprised myself with the speed I was able to keep up, was intending to interval train but just kept up the fast pace, took me 15 minutes to do a track that used to take me 20, so will have to increase the distance of that run now...

Ate really well today, cereal and low fat milk for breakfast (light and tasty cereal) Special K bar at morning tea, a healthy sandwich, pear and banana and a low fat yoghurt for lunch and just finished steak, salad and roti bread for tea...YUM~!

So far so good...:p

I love those special k bars.. they are sooo good... and so much healthier than candy :)
Great job on the jogging at intervals, I suck at that! I like the eliptical, less impact on my knees, and I don't feel like I jiggle as much, lol

Hee hee, i get what you mean, in the beginning I could feel my tummy wobble, it doesn't do it anymore so I guess that is progress.

It really used to wobble during my skipping sessions. Luckily I'm not to big up top so jiggling there is limited....:D

Wow You Are Doign Awsome And You Are Making Great Progress You Can Do This Keep Up The Great Work!

Thanks so much for the support...

Well today,

Great jog this morning 25 minutes, 15 minutes of that was uphill running, this was a track I would never have been able to run even a couple of weeks ago, so very proud of myself..could just feel that fat melting away...lol:D

Good food day again, i am very pleased with the healthy choices I am starting to make...

I have a migraine today, and usually that would drive me to eat junk, BUT not this time!!!

I am managing to avoid the cheese on crackers at morning tea by replacing it with a special k cereal bar. Will have toasted sandwiches with ham and pineapple tonight as a treat since it is Friday...much better than the pizza I would usually have!

All good here...this time it is going to be a way of life!

Had a really good day yesterday....

BUT my little boy had to go to A&E and ended up having a cast put on his leg, we were there for 2 and a half hours and missed dinner, I was starving....the good thing is we resisted the takeaway temptation which we would have usually succumbed to...

BUT I had my toasted sandwiches as planned but ended up having 4 sandwiches instead of two because I was soooo hungry....I can be so greedy sometimes I have discovered , boy did I feel sick after!!! Wont do that again.

Great exercise this morning, did cross training with my stepper, skipping rope and weights for 30 minutes and threw in some tummy and leg work...so feeling better about my hiccup last night.

Weigh in day tomorrow I am so nervous that I have not lost ...6 days of exercise this week and have been sooooooo good with my eating so hopefully the scales with show that.

Fingers crossed!

sorry bout your little guy~! :(
great workout...I think I only did tummy stuff twice this week..oops  have a good one tomorrow!!

Well just finished a tea of 1 homemade hamburger...so much nicer than McDonalds:D

Sooo nervous about my weigh in tomorrow, stealing myself for no weight loss even though I've been soooo good.

:)

Well weighed in today....managed to lose 3.3 lbs (1.5kg) so that is a total of 8.8lbs lost (4kg)

I think I'm happy with that 1.5kg...but would have liked a little more:p

What makes me happiest is after all this time I am finally at my pre-pregnancy weight (hee hee my daughter is almost 4) but that is a good thing. Today i weigh 167.5lbs (76kg)

6kgs to go until my goal weight of 70kg(154.3lb) and then I will re-address it.

What I want is to get to 70kg by the first Sunday in June....hopefully I can do it.

A couple of things I am going to change this week is to eat less bread (even though I only have 2 slices of low cal brown bread for lunch) I will try to change a couple of these lunches to salads. My downfall this week was the extra few slices I had for my toasted sandwiches.

Just got back from a long 1hr and 20 minute walk with DH and strollers so that was good. He lost 4.4lb this week....:)

You can TOTALLY do that by June! I wanna lose a few (ok, alot really lol) by June, and even tho the amount I'd like to lose is veryyyy high, I'm still gonna work my bootay off~ Thats all ya can do :) keep it up, and congrats on the loss!@

Well...very proud of myself, I got through my 2nd weekend without takeaways or any sort of junk food...

Dragged my hubby along for a 4 and half mile walk today...so that was really cool, we walked along the waterfront and had fabulous views of the ocean. Walking with the strollers is always an added benefit for the workout too.

This is a huge deal for me as the weekends are all about comfort and easy meals...

I can see just how bad my eating habits have been now that I am able to stand back from it. The meals I ate that were prepared by me were always good and I did eat healthy meals....HOWEVER it was the extras, the chips, the desserts in front of the t.v, the KFC eaten because I couldn't be bothered cooking the weekly pizza hut visit, the chocolate bought for a treat to make me feel better...

At the end of all this I want to be able to have the odd treat, even be able to balance any treats i do have with my exercise...and not get compulsive about it all...

Hey there,

Yes I'd noticed our tags were similar....two kids in under 2 years really did my body in...lol

Good day today, 20 minute jog, felt so fit it was wonderful....ran up a hill that I could only go 1/3 of the way up 2 weeks ago, this is a mega hill, we live on a street at the top of it, but I usually choose to go on a track that takes me up the easy side, today I set myself a challenge to get to the top, and my willpower got me there huffing and puffing!

Eating really well still, so happy with being able to cut out extra snacks and don't feel hungry anymore.

Managed to do some sprint training this morning, only did 6 sprints over 5 minutes and then walked for the rest of the 15 minutes but at least it was something...:p

Well another good day...managed to get some exercise in tonight as well....skipping and stepper and some abdominal and leg work...

People are starting to notice my weight loss now so that is really great!! Gives me the motivation I need to keep on going.

;)
