Hi,
I'm new here and stumbled across this site in search for some support that I didn't have to pay for. This looks like a great place and is certainly going to help keep me on track.
I was never overweight until I had my first child and then it was all downhill from there, I managed to lose half of the weight I gained with her but then promptly got pregnant again when she was 9months old. My youngest is now 2 years old and I still have a good 10kg to lose (22lbs), if not more, I will re-evaluate when I get there and see how I feel and look
I have been exercising for months and have always been a sporty type, but managed to gain 10lb even when jogging everyday...that was a real kick in the pants telling me my diet was out of whack! My husband and I had got into the habit of having desserts at night, there in lies my main problem, that and the snacking between meals. So I have commited to a lifestyle change, not calorie counting but just making sure what I eat is the right choice, making sure I eat regularly (4 - 5) sensible meals a day, weight training, and exercising aerobically at least 5 days a week, either by jogging or interval training on my stepper and skipping. Also making sure my water intake is where it should be. I have managed to get quite fit, my resting pulse is 56 bpm, now it is just the food to conquer!
I have had to admit that I am a compulsive eater and once I start I find it hard to stop.
I am at day 10 in my 'change' and after the first week managed to lose 5.5lbs.
So far so good, and what is even better is the fact that my husband has decided to make some changes too, so that makes the journey a lot easier!
Hopefully this diary is somewhere where I can ramble a little, I already write down everything I eat, but need somewhere like this where I can come to accept and understand some of the bad habits I have managed to form.
My big realization in this last week has been that I will often go out to get takeaway because it is a trip out in the car and keeps my family amused...that is sad. I work fulltime as a teacher of 5 year olds so don't have a lot of time, but do find my habits are often worse at work, so will have to keep an eye on that.
